Maybe this has been done before, but I couldn't find it. I just heard "Quiet Storm" on the radio and my jaw dropped in general awe and wonderment. Can I get more or was this their peak?

destroy: that track with noyd and rakim, and i hated juvenille hell but that was a while ago so i might not now.

MOBB DEEP is dope.. one of the best hardcore East Coast grimy hiphop groups. Their best album is "THE INFAMOUS"... it has the classic "Shook Ones pt. 2" and "Survival Of The Fittest". There are also incredible collabos with Nas, Ghostface, Q-tip, and Raekwon.. The beats are PANCAKE fat... "Hell On Earth" is another good album and so is "Murda Muzik". The Infamous and Murda Muzik i know and love. Both classic. The Infamous gets ahead for great uses of 'motherfucker' after repeating lines for 3, 4 times. Murda Muzik wins it for Quiet Storm and utterly ace line: "makin' heavy metal for da black people."

I think Tim once compared Mobb Deep to Joy Division, which I thought was very striking though I don't recall quite hearing it (it did prompt me to dig out _The Infamous_ again and comment on it, though -- but what the hell did I say? and did I say it here?).

Surely I did no such thing. Although now that you mention it I can sort of see it - some similarities in the world-weariness of Hell On Earth particularly with Closer, maybe. But still, I'm pretty sure I never said this. The only hip hop-post-punk connection I'm currently touting is that Rockwilder = PIL or ESG for the '01.

Mobb Deep are awesome. I compared 'em to Joy Division. I like the new album too from what I've heard. They seem to be moving away from their trademark sound like the Wu-Tang did on 'Iron Flag'.

I didn't originally think much of Murda Muzik but on revisiting it, I actually like it! ain't Hell on Earth or Infamous, but it's pretty damn solid.

(still don't like Amerikaz Nightmare tho)

they probably gonna play a continuous medley of album highlights and fan favorites, omitting some verses and over-emphasizing chorus parts of the songs. i don't recall anything from infamy, but they did a couple cuts from murda muzik like "spread love" and "can't fuck wit," and the hits from the first two albums, albeit simplified, like a concise catalogue sampler.
