Enquiring minds want to know.

Iec Magazine and their accompanying website -- I think it's www.icemagazine.com -- seems to always have the latest, though they miss some of the smaller indie releases.

I use Metacritic's upcoming releases.

Pause and Play is pretty reliable (and links to amazon.com or articles as proof of the release). They currently have listings up to May 2005 and beyond, I believe.

Ice Magazine is good, but only tells you what's coming out a week in advance (unless you buy the magazine).

If you check out DJ Martian's blog, there are a few links under ALBUM RELEASE DATE INFORMATION. This is where I learned about Pause and Play.

See, DJ Martian is all about the links. :)

If you after specialist genres such as Metal and Jazz - there are dedicated resources for these on the web. Do you need this info?

DJ Martian (djmartian), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:28 (twenty-one years ago)

You bet, please let them spill forth like a mighty river.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, if you're looking for jazz, Jazzmatazz has an upcoming releases page that's pretty extensive (though I'm not sure how reliable it is).

For Jazz:

All About Jazz: Upcoming Jazz Release Center
http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/album_center.php
Gives an option to focus on new albums or reissues

DJ Martian (djmartian), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

re: Jazzmatazz

I don't like how this website is organized/ presented. Also it would be alot easier if they separated out reissues and new releases.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I agree. I wasn't aware of allaboutjazz.com until now, so thanks!

Another one worth noting. If you're looking for soul, funk, reggae, and more, check out Dusty Groove, which is updated every Friday, I believe.

For Metal/ Rock music
PRP

However this resource includes a lot of generic major label rock dross.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Monday, 29 November 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

for Extreme Metal:

Into Obscurity

General: not comprehensive, but well laid out

Metacritic

I'm a newbie here, and I don't know if this link is already posted, but if you're into all kinds of music except classical and popular chartbased, I'd recommend Piccadilly Records from Manchester, Britain.
Every tuesday it gets renewed, during the week you can check also the 'just in' section. Every genre also has a 'pick of the week'record.

Altough, I just checked and it seems offline (never happened the two years I'm daily checking this site.
