I can't imagine there being a more awful cover than this.

Neil FC (Neil FC), Thursday, 2 December 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THEY MIGHT BE NAKED

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 2 December 2004 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Woolworths are more likely to ban the cover for being UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY CRAP.

Neil FC (Neil FC), Thursday, 2 December 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

u r completely wrong-a great cover

lukey (Lukey G), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

No, I'm afraid that award goes to the new Mouse On Mars album. That's truly the shittiest cover in that "guess you got Photoshop for his birthday" kind of way.

that girls aloud cover: one of the best.

Jay-Kid (Jay-Kid), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

To me, NOTHING beats this:

Jonathan (Jonathan), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i didn't like that cover until i bought the cd and now i think its great. its just really nice and simple, uncluttered etc.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, it is a great cover.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Girls Aloud cover: classic for their facial expressions

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This is the important companion piece, for the context:

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

(That really was the actual cover)

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

It works well with the way GA's image has become this middle-class pastoral idea of townie, the cover. And it sort of complicates that, at the same time. It's very clever.

Also they might be NAKED.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Also they might be NAKED

The beauty of it is that you can't really tell, can you? I think that it is a very sophisticated cover.

Jay-Kid (Jay-Kid), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

But WWTNS? has nu-Nadine Coyle in large cut-up. Therefore it's sorta icky.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 2 December 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

The beauty of it is that you can't really tell, can you?

Nicola's blue top is perfectly visible, and Sarah has a dress strap round her neck!

filthy boys.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 2 December 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

(you call it a dress strap, i think it is one of those cotton key chains)

Jay-Kid (Jay-Kid), Thursday, 2 December 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll second Mouse on Mars.

mohair (jon kapper), Thursday, 2 December 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i like the idea of a pastoral townie

the new dizzee record is pretty bad i think

weft (weft), Thursday, 2 December 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I hereby submit antics by interpol.

still bevens (bscrubbins), Thursday, 2 December 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i think Showtime's is a bit wack to be honest

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 2 December 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

i kinda like it. it's has a simple, non-ornamented, strict and deliberately not-too-aesthetically pleasing feel to it, that could almost be called ... grime!

Jay-Kid (Jay-Kid), Thursday, 2 December 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd say it's actually very glitzy (tacky even) and playing the hip-hop card ;)

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 2 December 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

The White Stripes must have put out an album or something this year.

Going on their past record, I'm sure the cover (and the music therein) sucked.

And that god-awful Strokes one.

Sasha (sgh), Thursday, 2 December 2004 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Big second on Want Two. What's worse than an unabashed narcissist? An unabashed narcissist dressed like his mother.

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Thursday, 2 December 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, any and all things released by Chicks on Speed must be considered. Wait, does it count if they know it's bad?

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Thursday, 2 December 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Based on the cover art, I thought this was a new PS2 game.

My nominee for "hideous album covers I luv (the cover and the album)":

MC Transmaniacon (natepatrin), Friday, 3 December 2004 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

The Rufus Wainwright cover would be classic if it were Stevie Nicks on it instead.
