A helpful ILM SEARCH TIP

I've read people complaining about having trouble with the search functions on ILM, it being rather slow, and unable to search 3 letter words, etc., so I thought I'd share a useful search tip:

Use the THREAD TITLE search option in the advanced search section. It's about 10 million times faster than the keyword search (although it only searches the titles), and you can search 3 letter words. (This would have been useful to the person who was searching for XTC threads.)

Thank you and goodnight.

Yes, this is a good point. I assume it puts much less load on the server too.

It would be good if people could bear this in mind when creating thread titles too.

(it would be handy to put this information somewhere on the ILM search screen)

I always use thread title myself, a few exceptions aside. Gets right to the point!

Man, I just did this and it worked great! I wish I had known sooner...thanks King Kobra.

It also finds matches within words, e.g., searching for the the returns thread titles that contain the Theme, the Theatre and Loathe the.

Not a helpful tip, but a fun tip.

i feel a need to start a thread titled I Loathe The The The Theme Song.

i'm not sure what it would be about, though.
