This is a Jazzy Phizzle Threadizzle

i used to be just alright on Jazzy Phae's stuff, i felt his singing voice sorta made all his beats sound the same (i guess kinda like weaker pharrell tracks), but i swear, i just can't get Ciara's "1 2 Step" out of my head. i woke up this morning singing it. and that bridge is just so great. same drums, but a wicked minor key line. and i guess he did a bunch of other songs on her album? i really need to pick that thing up.

so, what do you guys think? and what are your favorite songs of his?

shit, make that Jazzy Pha

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I really really love Aw Naw by Nappy Roots which I think is him...

....I really really hate Let's Get Away by TI, which I think is him too...

I've probably heard more stuff of his than I realize though, any other popular radio hitz by Pha?

He kinda seems like Organized Noise a little bit, at least based on my limited knowledge of the man's work.

oh, and that Murphy Lee track "Luv Me Baby" (i think) gets honorable mention just because Christina Milian is in the video and looks HOT LIKE FIYAH!

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost - that's the thing, i'm not really sure which are his tracks that often unless he's singing on them, but he's doing that Just Blaze thing where he ALWAYS says "This is a Jazzy Phizzle Productizzle" in the beginning of the track to get his name out there.

i think he's got a way bigger discography that we know about

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i know he sang a bit on the second David Banner album, dunno if he did any of the production work

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:30 (twenty-one years ago)

actually, it's Jazze Pha.

I love the new Nelly single he did, "Na-Nana-Na". maybe I'll try and put together a quick list of his bigger hits to post.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"Dro in Da Wind" is terrific, he did "4 Eva" off the new trick daddy, he did some shit for the big tymers, and whatever i'll just wait til al posts a better list.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Ludacris f/ Nate Dogg - "Area Codes"
Nappy Roots - "Aw Naw"
Big Tymers - "Oh Yeah"
Field Mob - "Sick Of Being Lonely"
Bow Wow - "Let's Get Down"

there's way more, though, that's just some of the bigger ones that came to mind.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, that Field Mob song is especially great.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Thursday, 2 December 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

al, do you have excel spreadsheets of which producers have done what tracks? i remember when everyone first started freaking about kanye and blaze and you just busted out with a list

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 2 December 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I *love* his stuff with Field Mob, and "Lets Get Down" is far and away the best thing Bow Wow's ever done.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 2 December 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, for some people I kinda do! I mean I just have a lot of random text files with stuff like that collected here and there. I think I cut-and-pasted a Blaze discog from somewhere, and posted a Kanye one that I mostly put together myself. mostly I'm just annoyed at how hard it can be to figure out who produced what sometimes, so I try to get it right and make it easier for people.

(x-post)

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 2 December 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Al I love you.

Cee-Lo - The One
Trick Daddy - 4 Eva

i'm wanna make a Jazzy Pha mix but i can't for the life of me remember just what tracks are him on a lot of stuff.

Cough cough

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Sunday, 24 April 2005 03:30 (twenty years ago)

That list there is hardly complete, but it's a nice start.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Sunday, 24 April 2005 03:31 (twenty years ago)

six months pass...
the other day i was wondering in my head who would win in a fight between Ceelo and Jazze Pha. you know, they're pretty damn similar. fatties, live instrument soul/hiphop, gospelly singing. and then all of a sudden i find the 12" of the two of them together called Happy Hour. oh well, the sum are not greater than their parts

jaxon (jaxon), Thursday, 10 November 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

j.p.'s cameo on the new p.funk album, which i'm apparently the only one to hear it or love it around here, is dope

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Thursday, 10 November 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

thirteen years pass...

This guy's productions are the worst, and always have been. I can't believe I'm still hearing his cookie cutter Triton beats on the radio, each new track practically identical to the ones he made well over a decade ago.

Dan I., Friday, 28 December 2018 15:28 (seven years ago)

Huh, maybe it wasn't him I heard though? Who would rip off this style in 2018!?

Dan I., Friday, 28 December 2018 15:31 (seven years ago)

surely they would have told you their name, repeatedly, in izzle-speak
