Adamski-Killer, plus name more songs being given new context by the current climate in dance

longest thread title ever. but since "Killer" is in a DJ T set I have and sounds absolutely perfect, I was wondering are there other such songs, at the moment. Or more to come in future. Michael Mayer's been playing it too.

I might actually play "Killer" tomorrow, since if DJ T and Michael Mayer do something it is right to copy them, no matter what it is.

Scottish happy hardcore from mid 90s played at 33! Sounds exactly like Blackstrobe!

I heard the the kylie record she did with towa-tei on a mix last night and between a thin white duke remix and souldwax, weirdly it sounded pretty current seeing as it was done in 93(?).

specially with her new scissor sisters influence.

Man, I used to have the Eurythmics' Savage album (till I foolishly got rid of it) but I'd never heard the extended dance mix of '(Beethoven) I Love To Listen To' before. It sounds totally electrostabbingly good right now and is available for a short time at the peerless International House of Pussy.

I could imagine Empirion going down a storm in an electrohouse set...

It was a shame about this thread losing all those posts. I can't remember what people were suggesting. Can anyone remind me?

I still don't like 'Killer'.

Severed Heads "Dead Eyes Opened", apparently.

heh, it was Gant's 'Soundbwoy Burial' that got me wanting to hear more of that again, but my favourite is probably the Loop Da Loop mix of Todd Terry's 'Something Goin On (In Your Soul)' - ultra-maximal, very mid-late 90s style, sirens, super-bassline, timestretched vocals, 'acid house' style hits (particularly reminiscent of M-D-Emm's ardkore classic 'Get Down' or the Tall Paul mix of Wildchild's 'Jump To My Beat') etc. - probably wouldn't go down well today but denser, warped basslines might be nice (part of what i liked about Timo Maas was that he continued where much of the speed garage (and Van Helden esp.) left off in this respect, providing possibly the bridge between that and a lot of the 'poppier' electrohouse?).

I heard the the kylie record she did with towa-tei on a mix last night and between a thin white duke remix and souldwax, weirdly it sounded pretty current seeing as it was done in 93(?).

'GBI' actually dates from around 1998, and yeah it might not sound TOO out of place today (the acapella's pretty easy to get hold of in any case)

"i think i would like to see a slight return to speed garage sensibilities "

Sven have you heard Style Of Eye's "Back To Basic"? I said it in another thread already but it's like an electro-house tribute to New Horizons!

It's on one of those Matt Coleridge mixes.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 10 April 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

woah thanks for linking to those mixes!
