Why isn't the actual Negativeland "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" single on there?

(x-post)
it comes pre-loaded with seven negativland albums but not the song "u2"? what's the point??

I guess that CD is still lawsuit-bait.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 3 December 2004 00:22 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but this whole thing is kind of lawsuit bait anyway. What not just put it on there as double 'fuck you'?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 3 December 2004 00:25 (twenty years ago)

if i'm reading it correctly, someone bought a u2 ipod, altered the box, put some negativland songs in it and is now re-selling it as a used, customized ipod. can't see any negative legal issues there.

I am in a Film Studies Library and the only kid here is watching Sonic Outlaws...all about this age old battle. Have people seen this?

Matt Boch (Matt Boch), Friday, 3 December 2004 00:31 (twenty years ago)

Is that the Craig Baldwin (have I got the last name right?) film?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 3 December 2004 00:32 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. Craig Baldwin. He has interviews/segments on Negativeland, John Oswald, the Tape-Beatles, EBN, and the Barbie Liberation Organization...

Definately worth finding/seeing.

haha I know the guy who made this! at least I knew him a little bit in Minneapolis and later NYC.

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Friday, 3 December 2004 00:47 (twenty years ago)

yeah i think it's great, it'd be cooler if it had 'still haven't found what i'm looking for' on it but in terms of accomplishing what it wants to - raise money for a presumably worthy cause - than this is the way to go. plus obv. it's not like it would be too hard to dl the negativland track yrself.

That's not a very good collection of Negativland albums. And I think it should have included some lawn clippings or bits of wallpaper or something.
