KILLING JOKE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ihttp://www.cadizmusic.com/scans/rbmcd002.jpg http://www.motley.com/images/bandpic_crue3.jpg

Yes, in a moment of spectacularly stupifying incongruity, idiot metal kingpins Motley Crue have handpicked Killing Joke to open five stops on their upcoming UK jaunt (at Wembley, no less). Nikki Sixx is actually quite the pal of Joke bassist Paul Raven, but that doesn't make this match-up any less ill-advised. It's like having Gang of Four open for Ted Nugent.

My personal wager is that all five dates won't come to fruition, as the notion of Jaz Coleman playing second fiddle to the hirsute, portly and indefensible likes of Vince Neil for too long is an unlikely one.

The apocalype is nigh!

Actually, it seems Vince has slimmed down a bit. Jaz, meanwhile (see above), has apparently grown a fondness for pies......and firearms. HONOR THE FREE BUFFET

Jaz has got a lil' midget clone friend now too, holds up his mic stand for him.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 05:07 (twenty years ago)

There's rumors going round that he ate the last cloned mini-Jaz.

Gang Of Four opening for Ted Nugent indeed. Good god that is DIRE and I do not mean straights.

I would like to see a Jaz pez dispenser.

You know what's stranger is that one of the executive producers of Tommy Lee's upcoming TV show is BT. That is, artsy trance DJ-turned-cheesy-rave DJ BT.

play "looks that kill" and "blood on your hands" back-to-back and the pairing makes perfect sense--they should do a medley together.

You think Mick Mars will live that long anyway? check him out.

heppy, Tuesday, 21 December 2004 09:43 (twenty years ago)

I think that's a waxwork they're dragging around to try and trick people

"ah, no-one's going to look too closely at Mick anyway, we can have his parts on tape"

I live in England, right, where everybody has a reflexive unthinking prejudice against all things American and 'stupid'. So one day I thought I'd have some fun, which believe me is a major fuckin' undertaking here, and said to somebody 'hey put on this CD I got here. It's kind of like Sweet crossed with Slade with a bit of '77 punk thrown in.' I play it. "Drums pretty loud." "Yeah, it's a bit Chinnichap isn't it, Dave Clark Five even", I smirk. "This is cool what is it?" "It's SHOUT AT THE DEVIL by MOTLEY CRUE! Ha ha ha! You're rockin' along to the Crue, brah!" Take him about a month of fuckin' Pulp to wash the stain off his soul, I reckon
