now that its being released and tipped for the number one spot almost a YEAR after it first came out, can we say what we REALLY think of the bizzle's mammoth posse upon posse cut? god help us if this gets in the top ten and even more kids treat this as the standard cos itll mean more shoddily made beats and more crap MCing nationwide. lethal was better in more fire crew, when he wasnt trying to sound all hard and didnt talk complete bollocks on the mic. oi is a hundred times better than this shit. the remix is even more hilarious, with the 'ill crack your skull line' being extended to 'ill break your neck, 'ill pull off your balls', 'ill rip out your spine', 'ill circumcise your brain and dick at the same time'. okay, the last ones i made up, but i wouldnt be surprised if they appeared at some point.

i give it a big fat D.

oi is a hundred times better than this shit

From the lyrics, it sounds more like "Oi the album"

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

it's good - stop whining

stelfox, Tuesday, 21 December 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

"the remix is even more hilarious, with the 'ill crack your skull line' being extended to 'ill break your neck, 'ill pull off your balls', 'ill rip out your spine', 'ill circumcise your brain and dick at the same time'."

sorry, but that was kinda funny.

splooge (thesplooge), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

it's wicked.

captain easychord (captain easychord), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 21:31 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a little overrated, but you know, still good. I don't think the world will end if it beomes some sort of milestone, you know.

adam... (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd prefer to see that Sway/Bruza/Blue "London" tune do well, the one that goes "I'm like Tony Blair except he's bisexual and I'm bicoastal".

adam... (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 21:46 (twenty-one years ago)

The e3 version where god's gift & wiley claim the pow! chat is sick! Why does everyone rate fumin though, he has the worst bars on the whole song?

scg, Tuesday, 21 December 2004 22:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It's like if Pete Doherty made grime!

The NME (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

SHOOT IT SHOOT IT SHOOT IT

i heard wiley on rinse fm, laying into lethal, bashy, jamakabi et al INTENSELY, not to mention highly entertaingingly. he kept going on about being a 'war boy'. he was killing it. i think he rapped over a remix of FWD at one point too. i prefer the beat on the remixes actually, esp the snowman remix.

splooge (thesplooge), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

DUD!!

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i like it, especially in the car.

m. (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

cor this is the first time i've seen criticism of pow.
i mean, it works! thats the bottom line. it works more effectively than any record since eskimo. it makes people go beserk!
demon d.e.e.and jamakabi all have classic verses.
'don't make jamakabi draw for the mekkle, not the gun me draw for the let buckle, swing it round like a numchuckle' how can you not love that verse!
lethal b is good on it. the whole record is just hypeness,
stone cold alltime hall of fame classic.

'you're not fumin' you're just slightly pissed off'
trimble

luka....., Thursday, 23 December 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

quick jab beats! live energy! pachinko pop!

so I prefer "War Wid" and "Charge",
but "Pow!" hypes people: it's bang on!

Paul (scifisoul), Thursday, 23 December 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

it went in at number 11 in the uk singles chart this week. cant wait to see it on TOTP.

two years pass...

QUICK QUIZ:

Name a more fucking embarassing musician than Lethal Bizzle.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 22 November 2007 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

A: Trick question, no musician is an embarassing a bandwagon hopper and general all-round useless fame-hungry prick as Lethal Bizzle.

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 22 November 2007 12:08 (eighteen years ago)

He did "Oi" so who cares?

tpp, Thursday, 22 November 2007 12:39 (eighteen years ago)

Some months on, the Bizzle album still isn't as bad as the Kano album

DJ Mencap, Thursday, 22 November 2007 12:42 (eighteen years ago)

Dude is never going to get by on his own MCing talent so he might as well jump on every bandwagon going. Part of the reason every variation of Fwd was so great is that he's barely on them.

My friend claims his appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks was high comedy, but I'm not sure I believe this.

Matt DC, Thursday, 22 November 2007 12:47 (eighteen years ago)

meh

he might well be a consummate plonker but fundamentally he has a better grasp of entertainment than 98% of his better regarded peers. however much dreadful toss he brings out i'd never say the uk was better off without him.

and yeah, bizzle's crap album = 100 x better than kano's crap album

r|t|c, Thursday, 22 November 2007 13:04 (eighteen years ago)

btw i recently heard westwood say that 'pow' was the most important uk hiphop single ever or words to that effect

guess that's a nobrainer though really

r|t|c, Thursday, 22 November 2007 13:06 (eighteen years ago)

(is this where dommy p drops the fallacy & fusion bomb)

r|t|c, Thursday, 22 November 2007 13:08 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, the "We Rule" bomb

Dom Passantino, Thursday, 22 November 2007 13:09 (eighteen years ago)

i.. don't think i know 'we rule'?

that is great!

tpp, Thursday, 22 November 2007 13:27 (eighteen years ago)

bizzles album is better than kanos. better than dizzees maybe too. and he might be a skinny jeans bandwagoneer but he seems to have a keen awareness of his stupidness. doesnt redeem it but no ones really taken him seriously since he went solo anyway.

also, not that im forgiving all the NME-arse licking but he doesnt really have much of a choice, its either go grindie or release mix-cds like all the other grime artists. which would probably be okay but then he wouldnt be touring with babyshambles, the gallows etc.

titchyschneiderMk2, Thursday, 22 November 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

bizzle on top gear.

Maybe he just wants to fuck indie girls.

Matt DC, Thursday, 22 November 2007 16:50 (eighteen years ago)

they do have similar taste in sunglasses.
