R&G vs Crunk n' B

It's unfair as is, I'll admit, as Lil Jon is in his prime and Snoop is in AOL commercials. To level the playing field, assume Snoop and the Dogg pound in their heyday decided to make R and B.

That theory v. crunk n b's theory

This is hugely confusing.

Okay, I'll try to simplify. What would you rather hear:

G Funk mixed with R and B, or Crunk mixed with R and B?

I love both, but I will go with the former.

Shit, I thought this was gonna be about R'n'G, the now-defunct German R&B duo whose claim to fame was almost being sued by Seal after they jacked "Crazy" for their single "Open Up Your Mind".

g-funk was pretty crap out the hands of dr. dre, lets be honest. probably ditto for crunk and lil jon.

ciara alone is making crunk R&B great though. i just wish they didnt have annoying rappers on so many songs.

shut the fuck up you clueless prick.

scg, Wednesday, 22 December 2004 14:36 (twenty years ago)

fuck off.

i know all the other groups that have made stuff similar to crunk like 3-6 mafia, oomp camp, etc etc, and the newer songs like never scared that are crunk songs, but crunk is regarded as lil jon's thing, and only his, even by people that work with him, like pitbull and ying yang twins. theyre rappers, lil jon doesnt really rap in the conventional sense. jon might feature on salt shaker, but its not a crunk song. ditto for trick daddys lets go.

and as far as g-funk, who is ever going to listen to any of the stuff warren g produced outside of his own album a decade ago? good as dj quik/tash/kurupt/daz's stuff was, the west coast has become heavily insulated, because no radically new elements have come out of that region since the mid-late 90s. the dre comment was a bit of an exaggeration, i admit.

i thought R&G was gonna be someone's formulation for the ever-so-softer side of grime ('what have you done', f'rinstance)
