I put Protection on at a dinner party once and three people started making out. the rest were totally uncomfortable, although i don't knnow if they were bugged out by the making out or the massive attack more.

is there any better orgy music? perhaps the gregorian monks.

There's some Ennio Morricone stuff on the boxed set "Mondo Morricone" that would be perfect as a dinner party -> orgy transition.

"if you're going to an orgy, do use Protection..."

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm thinking Mezzanine would be better.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:46 (twenty-one years ago)

If you look at Nerve or other similar singles ad sites, it seems like one in every three people list Massive Attack's "Mezzanine" as one of the sexist albums they own.

SEXIEST not SEXIST! Whoops!

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, "Song or album that puts me in the mood"

I'll admit that it's on mine!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't consider this kind of music erotic at all. it's too mellow/comatose. but diffrent strokes for diff'rent folks n all that.

I'll stick with my Funkadelic records.

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Well Spencer, finding someone to have sex with while that record plays will not be a difficult thing for you. You should chat up girls at bars "yeah, I've got a copy of Mezzanine, if you'd like to come back to my place..." "Oh, I love that record. It's so sensual."

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

It's all about etchings...

Actually, that's not a bad idea to drop that. It's not surprising really, nerve/salon/theonion (all part of springstreet dating) all represent a similar demographic which seems to have a consensus on that album. The other things you see a lot on nerve are of course Loveless and Moon Safari.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't imagine all of Protection though - some of it would be pretty silly for seduction.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

My kind of girl only does it to Merzbow

What's wrong with being sexy?

Nigel Tufnel, Tuesday, 21 December 2004 21:59 (twenty-one years ago)

"love is a verb, love is a doing word"

Seems about right for an orgy.

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 21 December 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Seems like Massive Attack might be too depressive for an orgy. Not libidinous enough. Maybe Maxyinquaye by Tricky, though.

Wha'bout that first Enigma album? You could make it a 90's nostalgiorgy.

I think Mezzanine has a menacing, obsessive and somewhat sadistic quality which give it an air of predatory sexuality.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 00:17 (twenty-one years ago)

is there some sort of mathematical formula expressing the underlying erotic appeal of Enigma's "Sadeness" to females of the species? Cuz its fuckin frightening (or was, anyway).

perfect for acting out "being raped by the milkman" fantasies!

also, xpost
Most people are cheesy.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 01:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to do well by playing the soundtrack to Taxi Driver but I guess I was dating rather special people back then.

ian g, Wednesday, 22 December 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Massive Attack and Tricky are responsible for some of the most seductive music ever produced. Half of their songs SOUND like sex.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

They sound all squishy?

ian g, Wednesday, 22 December 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

it's all that heavy breathing they do
