DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i love what he's done with the pummelling bassdrum/hats sequence on Poney 2 - makes it seem almost half-step but still so relentless

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

this is the sound that Prodigy should be going for in 2004 ! instead that have lost it !

DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Industrial Inspirations - Nitzer Ebb and Front 242

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:20 (twenty-one years ago)

don't you have a radio !

DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

This sound is similar to the excellent techno sets of a 90s DJ called Craig Walsh

DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:24 (twenty-one years ago)

quit comparing it to other shit, martian!!

i love that you can hear the people in the studio flipping out.

it's tricky (disco stu), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Andy Weatherall would approve of this mix ! ;-)

DJ Martian (djmartian), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:30 (twenty-one years ago)

can you hear me SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!

nick.K (nick.K), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I just heard people screaming, were you there Nick??!!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:33 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. it was so strange, the set-up was basic, all the technicians were there but it seemed only 10 people turned up when VItalic played: chr1s cunn1ngham, r0b da bank, l0uise Katt3rhorn, pi3rs martin, sh3ikh ahmed (absorb), dee, jk from gabba and others. very powerful, but afterwards people seemed a little shocked

nick.K (nick.K), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Cunningham eh? i'd have come had i been invited ;)

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i was there by accident, the whole occassion was very odd. Vitalic's music is so charged, feelings ran high, it would've been all too easy to be upset

nick.K (nick.K), Thursday, 23 December 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

holy shit. vitalic must tour.

:| (....), Thursday, 23 December 2004 04:31 (twenty-one years ago)

needless to say the 'ting' 3:40 in is not part of the set.

:| (....), Thursday, 23 December 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Vitalic is like a god to me.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 23 December 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

he just keeps making weirder and harder tracks! and they're so accessible!

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 23 December 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

have you heard the one 17 mins into the FUSE set, and he dropped it appox 22.30 mins into yesterday's set. Unrelenting. he kills it live. It's on the album, but that's not for sharing (yet), we gotta give PIAS a chance to make something on the advance they paid out. I have to admit the person that turned me onto that particular tracks' music is well known to ILXers but he never posts (thanks, you know who you are.. ). also, all those muted vocals are Vitalic himself, he sings live.

nick.K (nick.K), Thursday, 23 December 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

headphones as a mic I heard??

how's the album?

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 23 December 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

[starts the Peel Session] sigh, I get all misty-eyed and emotional and shit...and he's only been playing for half a minute.

Omar (Omar), Thursday, 23 December 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

have you heard the one 17 mins into the FUSE set, and he dropped it appox 22.30 mins into yesterday's set.

isnt that rollin & scratchin?

:| (....), Saturday, 25 December 2004 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

damn i can't wait to listen to this. and a full-length out on pias soon? he is my hero. (no pressure, but you must NEVER FAIL ME FROM NOW ON.)

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Saturday, 25 December 2004 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

the bootleg on slsk sounds better than the radio stream but omits the entire vocal section of poney 1 and the transition between kish kash and fanfares.
