Songs in the key of YELLOW.

My daughter, who is turning four, is very into the fact that her favorite color is yellow (seems to be a very popular color for kids). I'd like to make her a mix CD of "yellow" songs. Any suggestions?

There are the obvious:
- yellow submarine
- mellow yellow
- don't you eat the yellow snow

and she loves "pictures of matchstick men" where it starts:
When I look up to the sky
I see your eyes, a funny kind of yellow

what else?
thanks so much.

Coldplay -- Yellow
anything by Yello (what four-year old wouldn't love "The Race"?)

What about "Yellow Rose of Texas" or "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree"?

I don't know how much a 4-year old would like it, but Ken Nordine's Colors contains the songs 'Yellow', 'Amber' and 'Gold'

It's weird, when I was quite young I used to hear a song on the radio that I always thought of as "the yellow song" (though I think the association may have been essentially wordless). I wish I remembered now what it was, but I know I used to see yellow when I heard it.

I also used to associate the days of the week and the numbers 1-10 or so with colors, but I've lost all those associations, sadly.

I forgot to mention the coldplay song--she's been digging the video for "the scientist" which whe have on free video on demand.

I don't know if I'm down with the yellow rose of texas or tie a yellow ribbon... but I haven't heard them in a long time.

Yello and YMO are both good suggestions, but I think to cerebral for her. Somewhere she can hear the word.

I don't know why I didn't think of the Donovan--been on a bit of a Donovan kick for a while.

I thought of the Ken Nordine record, but I don't really know it--would it be too freaky(not so much weird as spooky) for her?

Well, there is Blue Monday....

thanks much, all. Any other ideas?

yeah, it's still there, so you might try that. I don't see "Big Yellow Taxi" on there though!

Neville bros "Yellow Moon" is another favorite.
