I wanna get back in the mp3 trading game, but I've been gone for two years. What do you think the most reliable/fastest/least frustrating napsterclone circa late 2001.

same question. most reliable/fastest/least frustrating mp3 encoder as well? Mystery bonus question: who here is a Winamp fan, and who roots for Sonique?

Depending on platform:

Morpheus for Win/98/2000/XP Limewire for MacOS 9/X

Both of these are gnutella protocol clients, so you can search for all types of media, not just music.

For mac, i'd take audiogalaxy over limewire anyday.

I used to use Gnotella, but it had a glaringly bad crash-bug in it. But that was two years ago. I'm sure they fixed it by now. I'm sure I'm not the only person who sent them a bug report.

I loved Audiogalaxy for the like three and a half minutes that MacSatellite worked. Is there a functional Macintosh client for it now?

What Douglas said.

morpheuas works pretty well. Lots or Bryan Adams and Journey. But what of the pay service pressplay?
