Top 100 songs that Xiu Xiu should cover

1. Nine Inch Nails -- Down In It. Jamie Stewart's voice is made for this song. Imagine what the screaming at the end would sound like. Wow.

2. New Order -- Leave Me Alone. They've already covered "Ceremony" brilliantly, now it's time for more robo-NO covers with wild screams on top. On second thought, maybe they should just cover all of "Movement" instead.

3. Britney Spears -- Baby One More Time. Quiet whimpering about loneliness over sparse instrumentation (kind of like the "Fast Car" cover).

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 26 December 2004 22:04 (twenty years ago)

4. B-Movie -- Nowhere Girl. This could even be part of a mash-up with the New Order covers. It's perfect!

Xiu Xiu's cover (featuring Michael Gira) of Bowie/Queen's 'Under Pressure' is the best cover I've heard in years. Mindblowing.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 28 February 2008 19:03 (seventeen years ago)

Low standards, huh?

I mean, I don't know, it's pretty good I guess. But a little, I don't know, too straightforward for Xiu Xiu.
