Look i'm just a cruiser who won't be back, but it occurs to me that as music being an art form / thing of expression (and not a business) it doesn't need alot of people deconstructing the emotional value of each track/album, thus if you really gave 2 shits about the music 1. you'd pay for it and 2. you'd be listening to it and not tossing over jenna j, for the 12th time this week, jeez, there are music nerds and internet nerds and anyone who finds this offensive are the bastard child of both, and you need help. ps. my question is 'WHY?'

Wall-E, Wednesday, 29 December 2004 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

BAITER

jeez, there are music nerds and internet nerds and anyone who finds this offensive are the bastard child of both, and you need help.

Is this thread the wormhole between ILx and the real world?

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 29 December 2004 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

and not tossing over jenna j, for the 12th time this week

Where is this?! Apparently I'm missing out on the best part of ILX.

Wah? Come back and tell me where!

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Wednesday, 29 December 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Are there websites where music lovers can go to not discuss music?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 30 December 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

"Look i'm just a cruiser who won't be back"

As long as you won't be back, that's what's important.

"DON'T HURT FEELINGS--I AM AN ARTIST."

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 30 December 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

also: an art form / thing of expression (and not a business) is a very rockist statement!

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 30 December 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

just a cruiser

blackmail.is.my.life (blackmail.is.my.life), Thursday, 30 December 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

cruisy like the gay woods on the east side?

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 30 December 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

How can you tell which woods are gay and which are not gay?

Huk-L, Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

the gay woods are the ones where the dudes hang out, 'cruising' for other dudes.

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

If there are no dudes in the woods, are they still gay?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

If there is no wood in a dude, is he still gay?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

What about Hot Tree On Tree Action?

Huk-L, Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

MindInRewind wins.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Thursday, 30 December 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Are there websites where music lovers can go to not discuss music?

There's discussion, and then there's analysis. One of them is masturbatory and does nothing to help one enjoy music more.

craggy jones, Thursday, 30 December 2004 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

But masturbation feels good.

Huk-L, Thursday, 30 December 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I frequently enjoy music more when I masturbate while listening to it.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 30 December 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Can't you find something else to talk about? Is this song the only one you sins? Makes you look better when you put things down? Value your opinion! Don't criticize my friends, criticize my ideas. Don't criticize my life style. I'm fed up 'cause all you wanna do is criticize.

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 30 December 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Does anybody critically review their own masturbation?

Huk-L, Thursday, 30 December 2004 19:53 (twenty-one years ago)

The themes are repetitive and predictable, but ultimately a satisfying experience.

just listen don't cruise

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Thursday, 30 December 2004 21:25 (twenty-one years ago)

just listen to Julee Cruise

LSTD (answer) (sexyDancer), Thursday, 30 December 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Barry's comment was a thread peak, but LSTD's post was easily its twin.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 30 December 2004 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

a twin peak?

LSTD (answer) (sexyDancer), Thursday, 30 December 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean I have no problem discussing music but don't ask "Is this band good or not?" because that just shows you don't have any personality or knowledge of music

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

LSTD, that WAS my joke!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i find that over-analysing music enhances my love for it.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Good musical analysis is like a good cigarette after sex.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

if ppl feel the opposite to me re:musical analysis that's fine and understandable. there are plenty of things i do enjoy that i have no desire to analyse. i don't see why ppl should demand that others stop analysing stuff, though: if you don't enjoy it don't participate. i'm not forcing anyone else to analyse things to the same level.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm treating this thread as humourlessly as possible!

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

xypost: sorry, mole. I missread yr thread.

LSTD (answer) (sexyDancer), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

That's OK LTSD! I just take pride in my crap puns, is all.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 30 December 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Wall-E As music is an artform, like poetry do you also find it wrong for people to discuss the emotional value of poems?

Dylan J B, Friday, 31 December 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

And with the replys to wall-e's post the users of this forum have proven themselves to be immature illiterate children

Dylan J B, Friday, 31 December 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

PLZ DISCUSS EMOTIONAL VALUE

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 31 December 2004 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Dylan J B you obviously have not read the intelligent discourse on Gear's roommate thread

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 31 December 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Dylan J B you obviously don't understand that Wall-E was being a schmuck whose primary purpose was to bait the board, not engage in intelligent discourse.

I've scanned this thread title a thousand times in the past few days but every time I still read it as "look, don't just listen, criticize"

W i l l (common_person), Friday, 31 December 2004 20:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I think the future is in telepathic criticism.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 31 December 2004 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep imagining this thread title's being mumbled by Kim Gordon in "Teen Age Riot"

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 31 December 2004 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I think the future is in telepathic criticism.

I think the future is criticism that causes physical pain, rather than just the emotional pain some fans, like the author of this thread, seem to derive somehow.
