That's what I have, too, and I've found it very easy to use.

Transmit again

I like Transmit, but the unregistered version only allows you a few miunutes of ftp time before disconnecting. I couldn't get Cyberduck to work.

ftpthingy is another good freeware one, which allows full functionality for the 30 days of the trial.

more love for transmit. buy it, it's cheap.

How does transmit compare to rbrowser?

FTP is insecure and shouldn't be used.

jon williams is insecure and can't get laid.

My first love: Fetch. Beautiful but demanding: Transmit. My current squeeze: RBrowserLite. Or you could try using Connect To Server... (Apple & K) in Finder.

The best would obviously be to run sftp from Terminal.

fetch is nice.

Transmit

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 30 December 2004 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to set up a secure shared folder for clients to download files from me that are too big to be emailed. The clients at the other end aren't going to be willing to install an FTP client, so it needs to work with them using their web browser. I tried Rumpus and that didn't work -- the client kept getting login errors. I've installed Transmit, but they're so fucking proud of their program they don't think it needs any documentation. How do I set it up for other people to download from me?

I Am Curious (George) (Rock Hardy), Friday, 31 December 2004 16:18 (twenty-one years ago)

transmit is an ftp client, not a server.

rumpus works but it is so hackneyed and weird to figure out. give it another try, read the docs.
