NERVES!

I think I'll play "Timecode". I have the 10-11 slot which isn't bad at all.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

lu cont's "what you waiting for"!

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I played that last night, it went down well. I might leave it tonight, for one of the others.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

although I'm sure we could both play it!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

any of the 'My Heartbeat' remixes surfaced yet, other than the Royksopp own?

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I've not heard any yet anyway.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Ana, on the gmail request thread, was offering a Maurice Fulton one.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm going to use a bit of 'timecode' in the run up to the bells.

stirmonster, Friday, 31 December 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

"timecode" is SO the song i want to hear at midnight. and the tick-tick-ticks would work!

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

in the run up to "the bells"?

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

oh. 'the bells' is midnight. didn't realise it was a scottishism.

stirmonster, Friday, 31 December 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

no I know, I just was making a bad Jeff Mills joke.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought the Braxe remix of heartbeats had surfaced?

they seem to be talking about it on the Annie messageboard (sorry...the OTHER annie message board).

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

x post. i'm a bit slower than usual today.

the braxe mix was promoed a few weeks ago.

stirmonster, Friday, 31 December 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I might plug my iPod in at the house party and try and get Rex's 'Heartbeats' on for midnight. Or JC Chasez's 'All Day Long I Dream About Sex'.

Captain GRRRios' Giggletits (Barima), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

disco 2000

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

disco 2000...pause it everytime he finishes 2000 and say 'and five' into the mic.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Friday, 31 December 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Rollie Pemberton (Rollie Pemberton), Friday, 31 December 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

looks good. where are you playing?

phil-two (phil-two), Saturday, 1 January 2005 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish that I were, but I'm staying in tonight. I had a few invites, but I just didn't want to deal with any hassle. If I actually lived in the city, things would be a lot different tonight.

Matthew "Flux" Perpetua, Saturday, 1 January 2005 00:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm doing an all-1983 set at a Vancouver house party. They know i'm bringing records but they don't know that it will be all 1983.

donut christ (donut), Saturday, 1 January 2005 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm playing at a good friend's house party, she's moving to vancouver in a week, so i want to turn the place out for her.

Rollie Pemberton (Rollie Pemberton), Saturday, 1 January 2005 02:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I had some fun! the club was crappy for my set, nobody really had got in. but after I played at a mates party, hundred people or so dancing away, it was lovely.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 1 January 2005 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I also did a NYE set (in the 00:30-03:00 slot, which was nice), and the Lu Cont remix of Gwen Stefani went down very well. The rest of the set wasn't too challenging though, the crowd was mostly up for tried and true 80s floorfillers.

Siegbran (eofor), Saturday, 1 January 2005 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

my set was not as successful as I had hoped, the old 'people like shit they know' trick.

*plays Kano* = *confused looks*
*plays Mcenroe* = *hip hop heads approve*
*plays "Drop It Like It's Hot"* = *PARTY EXPLODES*

i retire.

Rollie Pemberton (Rollie Pemberton), Saturday, 1 January 2005 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

At 12.05 in Parliament Square this morning, I put Rex's 'Heartbeats' on the 'pod and watched the fireworks with a smile. Later, I ripped out the ipods playing Puddle of Mudd, Silverchair and other assorted shitbirds from the line out cable at my mate's house party 9salvo one in what turned out to be rapidly escalating ipod hostilities) and managed to play most of Cornelius' Fantasma, '100 Ways' and 'Shake It' by JC Chasez, a couple of Plus-Tech Squeeze Box songs ('Milk Tea', 'THE mARTIN SHOW!!') and not much else. After my friend P4t managed to slice open his finger with a knife, I played him 'Chewing Gum' while our medic friend tried to stop the flowing blood.

Captain GRRRios' Giggletits (Barima), Saturday, 1 January 2005 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Aaarggghh. iPods will destroy new years parties. DJs are like Highlander THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

Jacob (Jacob), Monday, 3 January 2005 06:57 (twenty-one years ago)

five years pass...

looks like i'll be djing a nye party. will probably give 'coma cat' a play and then shelve it forever. anyone else?

one time gaffled 'em up (one time), Tuesday, 7 December 2010 23:19 (fifteen years ago)

I've dj'd the last couple of NYEs. It's always a weird night as the focus is on midnight, which always feels really early, and it also brings in a party once a year crowd.

Popture, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 01:13 (fifteen years ago)

I'm djing at the Cave show at the Hideout in Chillinois.

Trip Maker, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 01:26 (fifteen years ago)

Yes it seems I'm putting on a night in a bar below a gig. Seems the band is very popular, so it could go either way. I will be playing Coma Cat, but I haven't had quite the occassion to play it out even yet so I may not shelve it yet.

What are you doing here? (dog latin), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 15:56 (fifteen years ago)

played contoversy at midnight last year, my living room went bananas

straightola, Thursday, 9 December 2010 14:56 (fifteen years ago)

I'm djing at the Cave show at the Hideout in Chillinois.

I so wish I could go to this.

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 9 December 2010 15:00 (fifteen years ago)

They are gonna do a cover set with special guest as well as the set that they've been playing on tour for the last two months.
Excited.
