How has your 2004 listening changed your 2003 lists?

It doesn't look like this has been done here since 2002, but it made for a good thread then.

On my list, the Atmosphere record would go several notches down. Maybe even off the list. So would Jay-Z, actually. I'd probably replace them both with Brother Ali and David Banner, respectively. And I forget if Broadcast actually wound up on my P&J ballot, but if it did I'd probably replace it with Goldfrapp.

No. 2003 was definitely a better year for music than this year was.

accessible:

2)Rosanne Cash - Rule of Travel
3)Seal - IV
4)Massive Attack - 100th Window
5)Alicia Keys - Diary

and excessive:

1)David Sylvian - blemish
2)Jing Chi - Live
3)Natalie MacMaster - Blueprint
4)Andy Summers - Earth + Sky
5)King Crimson - The Power To Believe

3) Jay-Z "The Black Album"
4) Aesop Rock "Bazooka Tooth"
5) The Rapture "Echoes"
6) Dizzee Rascal "Boy In Da Corner"
7) Radiohead "Hail To The Thief"

10) Metric "Old World Underground Where Are You Now"
-- Rollie Pemberton (cadence_weapo...), January 1st, 2004.

In retrospect, Metric might've gotten knocked off by something else, even though i love the record. Other than that, this is pretty well right.
