basically every Zep album, I have owned on cassette, CD, and vinyl ... in that order

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 3 January 2005 07:53 (twenty years ago)

New Order - Power Corruption & Lies
" - Movement
Killing Joke - Night Time
" - Brighter Than A Thousand Suns
The Wedding Present - Tommy
Lush - Gala
Pale Saints - Comforts of Madness
Led Zeppelin - In Through The Out Door

But I'm cheating a little, because I don't think I should be able to count things I got on CD after getting them on vinyl. That would mean too many things to name. I should just stick to things I own on cassette along with some other format. In that case, I would have to remove Killing Joke's Night Time. But Night Time I actually bought twice on vinyl before getting it on CD, so it's unique in my collection for that alone, even if I've never had it on cassette.

The Verve - Urban Hymns (cassette/CD)

Ian Moraine (Eastern Mantra), Monday, 3 January 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

substance! that's it. CD, tape and vinyl. although the tape is mrs F's, and it's only the A-sides. which sucks, because that means i don't have "dubvulture" or whatever it's called.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 3 January 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)

Jefferson Starship, Red Octopus on vinyl, cassette (2 copies, as one wore out), CD, *and* 8-track.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Monday, 3 January 2005 17:05 (twenty years ago)

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 3 January 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

ha ha mrs f will surely kick your ass for stealing her tape and then forgetting about it!!

but she stole it from her sister, and has surely forgotten about it.
anyway, she's too busy getting into hip-hop. seriously. gta: san andreas is taking over our lives ;)

As before, my reply is thus: Owned Led Zeppelin's Presence on 8-Track/vinyl/cassette/CD in that order; and over a dozen others (Maggot Brain, Highway 61 Revisited, The Yes Album, Bad Girls among them) on all-but-cassette

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Monday, 3 January 2005 18:01 (twenty years ago)

Ooh - Myonga ups the ante with 8-tracks!

I was actually in a situation where one of the two Substance CD's broke, and with it, my heart. I was sooo happy to find another copy of just that CD that a used shop was nice enough to let me buy for cheap without having to buy the whole package again. I don't think it would serve my interest to have it on cassette because I like to pick and choose, but the idea of it on vinyl is kindof a nice thought. It really is THE New Order thing to have above all others, in my opinion, even if there is some out-and-out crap on it.

Bimble..., Monday, 3 January 2005 19:18 (twenty years ago)

Too Much Too Soon, The New York Dolls, LP and CD. Only currently playable version is the CD one. Long story involving melting wax and a cure discovered too late.

Ken L (Ken L), Monday, 3 January 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

seconded: it would be my desert-island album.

but "state of the nation" is still shit.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

You are indeed correct re: State of The Nation.

I just wanted to add something to this thread of things I have on cassette and some other format: Stooges "Fun House"

Bimble..., Monday, 3 January 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)
