What, no Stina!

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Monday, 3 January 2005 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Holy fuck are these people allergic to tunes and/or rhythm?

Jacob (Jacob), Monday, 3 January 2005 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I dunno, it's the first end of year list I've seen that actually includes stuff I know and like. Obviously I don't like it all but it's alright.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 3 January 2005 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha those lists are almost entirely composed of the stuff I'm vaguely interested in, and when I hear them I think 'oh that's nice' and never think of it again. The absence of "Toxic" from any end-of-year list really feels quite Stalinist.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 3 January 2005 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

did anyone actually take part in the voting? the form (an ordinal strongly disagree->strongly agree type thing) looked like it would take about half an hour to complete! fuck that...

Haha, my album of the year is theirs! And rightly so. This list doesn't surprise me at all given what Brainwashed.com is in terms of a webpage-hosting service and all. (As for "Toxic," semi-pleasant but OVERRATED -- and I'm not alone in thinking this.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 January 2005 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to hear that Boredoms CD. I was surprised it made Marcello's top of the year. (I find the particular combination of things that he likes intriguing, sometimes confusing.)

RS LaRue (rockist_scientist), Monday, 3 January 2005 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The Boredoms thing isn't THAT great compared to VCN and Super AE. House of Sun sounds like an orchestra warming up for 20 minutes and Seadrum is a 30 minute thrash/tribe build up as far as I know.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 3 January 2005 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

What is Joanna Newsom like? I've never heard her.

Also - Coil got bigged up a lot innit?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 3 January 2005 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh ooh dog latin OTM regarding "house of sun"!

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Monday, 3 January 2005 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

What I don't understand is why House of Sun doesn't preceed Seadrum - it would make more sense!

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 3 January 2005 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

catchy, unpleasant and SHITE.

...., Monday, 3 January 2005 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

what is?

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 3 January 2005 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

"...Arcade Fire are just a glorified recycling of Pulp's music with the tone deaf (but oh so hip) vocal style a la Interpol"

WTF?

I hear no Pulp or Interpol in the Arcade Fire...
