Divine Comedy win. Obviously.

By the way, that Electric Six video for Radio Ga Ga is genius. Freddy Mercury was a twat.

Don't really lie Queen, as a whole. Odd tracks not too bad. Even managed to 'appreciate' Bohemian Rhapsody when I heared/saw it recently. But, no I'd rather hear a DivCom album.

I really, really dislike Queen. Stupid ex-flatmate once told me everyone loves Queen. She also thought Dirty Dancing was the best film ever made.

Queen are fantastic, theatrical, absurd genius. One of their many magnificent twists was to ply an overloaded and camp contortion of rock without feeling the need to plaster a dry, wry grin across their faces at all times, to distance themselves from their art. They are a hell of a lot more fun than Divine Comedy, not least because they don't seem in the slightest ashamed of their silliness.

Sheer Heart Attack, Day At The Races and Night At The Opera are fantastic albums, and Queen made brilliant pop singles all throughout their career.

Divine Comedy wrote that 'lovely horse' song from Father Ted and so deserve their kudos, but i've always found something insufferably smug, superior and Drama Student to their music. I remember seeing Fountains Of Wayne's first UK show, at the Garage, back in 97, and the sound guy obviously only had the 'everybody knows that i love you' cd single in his record bag, and proceeded to play it on repeat throughout the longeurs between bands. Grotesque.

stevie is dead on: i'm always surprised by just how much i like the divine comedy when i hear them, but then i remember what an appalling knobshaft neil hannon was in all those interviews in the mid-nineties and my brain refuses to let me enjoy the music any more.

queen, meanwhile ... i mean, they did "we will rock you". what more do you need?

'don't stop me now' is the queen connosseur's favourite single...

This makes as much sense as TAKING SIDES: KRAFTWERK vs. Haysi Fantaysi.
