The critic's poll (here)
of what's goin to be cool in 2005. The results are somehow disappointing. Their Nr. 1 The Bravery sound like bad The Strokes impersonators, overhyped bloc party are only The Clash revisited, The Game is 50 Cent's stunt and muthaforkin KT Tunsall is included too. The only correct choice from the projects I know is grime rapper Kano. What do other people think, or they too busy cause they discuss 80s pop?

Oh the hilarity.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 10 December 2005 20:35 (nineteen years ago)

What's hilarious?

Hairy Asshurt (Toaster), Saturday, 10 December 2005 20:42 (nineteen years ago)

Bravery above Bloc Party, Kano above Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Vek above the Magic Numbers... did the Dears ever release anything?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 10 December 2005 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

I guess Kaiser Chiefs should have been top. Tom Vek really sunk like a stone though.

Hairy Asshurt (Toaster), Saturday, 10 December 2005 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

haha what are you talking about?
Vek is easily one of the better artists on that list, released a really solid album, and is now signed to a major, Island Records. Not exactly "sunk like a stone."

buboclot, Sunday, 11 December 2005 01:45 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, all those things totally relate to commercial success, well done on your reading comp.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 December 2005 01:53 (nineteen years ago)

when i think 2005, i think "KT Tunstall"

(note: you may actually think that if you're from the UK, I have no idea)

deej.. (deej..), Sunday, 11 December 2005 02:33 (nineteen years ago)

In all honesty I've gone thru 2005 without having any contact with K.D. Dungstall. Hooray for satterlite tv.

Amity Wong (noodle vague), Sunday, 11 December 2005 02:47 (nineteen years ago)

This and Keane, both extremely impressive since they were the highest and second-highest sellers of 2004. Who out of the above top 20 will pull a similar trick in 2006? coldplay and gorillaz?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Sunday, 11 December 2005 16:15 (nineteen years ago)

So are any of you Stylus and Pitchfork people planning on doing the same thing so we can rag on you next December?
