It's Elvis Presley's 70th birthday, what would he sound like today if he was still alive?

He'd sound old.

Toby Kieth imitgating Tom Jones, except he'd do covers of "All Apologies" and "I'm Like a Bird"

(I've rethought my position. Replace "Toby Keith" with "Randy Travis", but sung a couple octaves lower.)

Seriously, though...first off, if he was performing at all, he'd be country straight-up.

I'd imagine that in his post-1977 career there would be several comebacks, long dalliances with the country mainstream and at least one Lynn/Cash-style hip transplants.

...as prodced by Rick Rubin!

Or maybe a duet with Jimmy Buffet like other mainstream country performers...a Blue Hawaii kinda thing

I don't know. Being serious for a moment, I think that Presley has as much in common with Springsteen as he does with Buffett (and Tom Jones)

Imagine Presley doing live acoustic covers of "Johnny 99"

I have not, no. I have heard that one Springsteen song about Big Trouble in Little China, though.

Duets with Leonard Cohen would be nice.

Elvis Costello would probably written and duetted some piece of shite for his 70th birthday album
