Well Eve, who Gwen memorably sang with on "Let Me Blow Your Mind" did a dire cover of Dawn Penn's "No No No," the only bad song on Scorpion. I thought of this question while listening to "Time is Running Out" by Muse, because he does that sneery insinuating vocal in almost the exact same way, and the song is punchy and poppy enough to feel like some Ocasek- or Nelly Hooper-produced track of hers but I suspect that "Time is Running Out" is - no doubt - nestled somewhere mid-chart of the genre described in the question. AOR stuff, not a single. "Under the Bridge" is top-400 at best. "Gates of Eden" - by Bob Dylan?? I haven't heard the other songs here except "Slip It In" which might be an AC/DC track but I have no idea.
