There's more in Marc's Tainted Life autobiography. I believe she got the name because she was his dealer.

After singing on Soft Cells' "Torch", she formed Vicious Pink Phenomena, later truncated to Vicious Pink. Their 1984 single "Cccan't You See" is a nice piece of Hi-NRG electro-disco, whose B-side ended up as an early Belgian New Beat anthem (according to the "style press" of the day).

You're confusing the two Mike

Vicious Pink were a duo from leeds and knew Dave Ball (who produced their first single).. they sang on Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret..

Cindy sang on Non-Stop Ecstatic Dancing (memorabilia), Insecure Me, and Torch...

What's the difference between the two Memorabilias? The first time I heard the song I found a 45 of it in a thrift store and it was CLA55IC. I tried downloading it later and it was a re-make, and even though it was just about spot-on, it was nowhere near as mindblowingly cool.

Btw CXTC's rap = sheer heaven.

the first Memorabilia was produced by Daniel Miller in '79. This version was later reissued on the Tainted Love maxi ep in 1981. You can get in on the CD set of 12"s

There's been at least two remixes... plus countless other covers since then..

Soft Cell probably wins the title of best 80's band for 12"s.. They were one of the few bands that really put effort into extended versions... The camp rap on the Bedsitter 12" is sublime..

And she sings on one of my favorite obscure 12-inch singles, "Shake It Right" by Six Sed Red (Stephen Mallinder from Cabaret Voltaire.)
