Sorry to be making so many threads about this, but so few people have turned in their stuff that I don't have much of a choice.

This is the last one, though, until the real thing.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

The Lex sez he can't do them tonight as his internet has died but he will send them tomorrow

Stevem On X (blueski), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:15 (twenty years ago)

I'm finishing up now.

thank god i ain't too cool for the safe belt (smile), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

I'm writing them as we... speak.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

an idea of the ideal wordcount would be really helpful, y'know.

Al (sitcom), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

Yesterday, I looked at my blurbs for the first time in several days and decided to change a bunch of things, because I always hate the things I write when I look at them a week later. I will give everything the once over later tonight and send them off.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

One paragraph would be nice. 100-150 words. More or (slightly) less is OK, though.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

is the plan to post ALL comments received for ALL choices that make the final list? or just pick whatever is thought to be the best, risking tears before bedtime...?

Stevem On X (blueski), Tuesday, 11 January 2005 22:52 (twenty years ago)

I think he assigned each track and album to only one person, no?

I've done three of my four. I wish I hadn't volunteered for the fourth!

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 00:57 (twenty years ago)

I think he assigned each track and album to only one person, no?

That. I assigned specific songs and specific albums to specific people.

Not all of them were covered, but whatever. I'll cover where I can.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 01:07 (twenty years ago)

Mine have been sent to you.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 07:31 (twenty years ago)

I'll get mine to you this evening. (UK time)

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 09:45 (twenty years ago)

I've sent mine and feel very virtuous.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

I assigned specific songs and specific albums to specific people.

i didn't get this memo

Stevem On X (blueski), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

you didn't volunteer to write blurbs, though.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

You'll get mine soon as well.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 12 January 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

Hope I'm gonna be getting some last-minute ones.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 06:28 (twenty years ago)

Just sent mine. I'm awful with due dates.

thank god i ain't too cool for the safe belt (smile), Thursday, 13 January 2005 06:41 (twenty years ago)

Sent my last one, sorry for the delay.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 January 2005 07:23 (twenty years ago)

my blurb snuck in last sec.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Thursday, 13 January 2005 08:08 (twenty years ago)

I just sent mine, sorry it's a bit late.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 13 January 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

you didn't volunteer to write blurbs, though.

i thought i did. didn't you have me on that list you posted on the other thread? no matter

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 10:47 (twenty years ago)

Did mine make it through? I had horrible computer issues yesterday.

danh (danh), Thursday, 13 January 2005 13:34 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, you made it through.

Stevem, you were on my list because you gave me a half-blurb of Wiley's "Pies" and you said something about "What You Waiting For". You didn't say anything like "yeah, I'll write blurbs," so I didn't think you wanted to.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:00 (twenty years ago)

When will the countdown begin?

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

In a couple of hours, hopefully.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:30 (twenty years ago)

Sorry I was rather late, and that mine don't do the great records I was assigned justice!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

I'm excited for this.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

Just hope Arcade Fire isn't number one.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)

Making sure I've got the HTML down before I start the threads.

Test.

Test.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

Someone wanna let me know how to alter text size and/or insert images on this board?

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

To do an image, just stick an i in front of the url of the jpg or gif. However, if the dimensions are too big it won't work. I can't remember how big is too big you should be fine with the standard (enlarged) Amazon cover art size, for example.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

No kidding?

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

xpost: what do you mean exactly?

inserting images is as simple as putting an "i" in front of the http address of the image. altering text size involves using an html font tag with size parameter or maybe a bold tag.

john'n'chicago, Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

Never would've guessed. Thanks, Alba.

I was using but that doesn't appear to be working.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

err, I was using but that wasn't working.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

I think the use of font tags have been banned now. All you can do tagwise is bold, italic and strikethrough.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

Fucking HTML tags. Oh well, I guess I don't really need font size.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

If you need to muck about more, there's always the HTML playground board.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

OK, thanks.

I'll be starting shortly, then.
