so does anyone know anything about this one? i thought it was coming out today, but the several stores i stopped at said they were supposed to get it and didn't. so i figured i'd check on the bluebird to quench my desire to hear it, but no results for it on there either. anybody been able to track this down?

Rough Trade sent it to me about a month or so ago. I'm not sure what the deal with the record stores might be - try again in a few days, or try ordering it online.

It's all over slsk, if you've got that on your computer.

thanks, the "bluebird" was my not really subtle reference to that. i haven't been coming up with any results. i'll keep looking.

I bought it today at a music shop. But haven't listened to it yet.

two months pass...
Is it fair to say that they don't live up to their potential?

I hope you're right.

Who does live up to their potential? That's the point. Potential is in the future.

Purposely, I mean. I've only heard this ep but it seems they consistently cut their songs short. They could be magnificent but they keep throwing things in there to muck things up. Also, I've seen them twice, the first time was great but the second time they weighted the songs down SO much the show never got anywhere. I was seriously let down, as I'd been raving about them after the first one.

yeah, I think it is purposeful. I think that's why they've had some band member problems. they could be much better but matt backtracks against his own best ideas partly because he thinks everyone is stupid (secretly) so if they like something it must be bad.

Ha - that's a neat analysis and makes me love them even more.

It's like George Orwell in that shooting an elephant story.

it certainly works for them to an extent! I know people who know them though. if you can imagine being in a band with matt it must be hard. not that the people I know are in the band or anything. don't want to get anyone in trouble.

Actually, my old video store clerk is in the band.
