Gosh, I hate the JANUARYFEBRUARYMARCH lull in shows. Why do so few acts tour at this time of year? Wouldn't bands want to tour when there's little competition? Choosing between two shows on the same night in August is even more frustrating when you think about this long drought early in the year.

Probably because people are broke at this time of the year and ticket sales plumet. If we're talking indie bands, I imagine bad weather conditions factor in as well.

It does suck, though.

i saw the arcade fire last night, it was the first night of their tour. I know everyone is sick of hearing about them but they really were pretty fantastic live and worth checking out.

The flipside is that you get a late March/April/May MEGA TOURING BLITZ -- everybody tours at once, you're spoilt for choice, you load up on concert tickets, and every day is worth looking forward to because there's a great concert coming up later in the week.

because they're all touring Australia and NZ, duh! =) We have a few festivals on and such in summer.
