The MacColl thing only happened after his attempt to launch himself as Lebanese fusion artist Nizar Khalil-Qabbani fell flat.

I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Ewan McColl when he hasn't got a finger in his ear

"So where does that leave Kirsty?"

Kirsty's in pieces.

Oh I am so terribly sorry, that really was absolutely appallingly bad taste, I really don't know what came over me - and I really loved Kirsty too!

Apparently there was a documentary called "Who Killed Kirsty MacColl?" on BBC 4 just before Christmas, ".... investigating the mystery behind the death of singer/songwriter Kirsty MacColl, killed by a speedboat in Mexico in 2000. The boat, travelling at high speed in an area restricted for divers, belonged to one of Mexico's wealthiest businessmen but no-one has been prosecuted over the incident. Kirsty's mother Jean's search for the truth and her attempts to bring those she believes are responsible to justice are documented here.". Did anyone see it?

Boxset "From Croydon To Cuba - An Anthology" 3CD's + DVD due 28th March. EMI are also looking at remasters of Kite and Electric Landlady both with bonus tracks not on the 3 CD set.

I knew someone would say that. Asked it anyway.

I knew loads of people who had(have) "Kite" I'm surprised it's not as big as "Brothers in arms" but there you go.

Yeah I saw that BBC4 thing. A friend of mine is/was involved in a "Justice for Kirsty" benefit thing ongoing, but it seems the only way to get more is to bring down the Mexican Govt or something. I guess it's time to let go.
