All Music Guide restricting access?

I tried to click on an album from one of the discography pages, and it kept asking for my password. Kept trying--happened again and again.

Started over, and it worked this time--just like normal.

Anyone else get this? This better not be a sign of things to come... they wouldn't restrict the friggin' reviews to members-only status, would they? (Seems unlikely--but if you'd asked me months ago whether or not they were likely to cut the site's overall usefullness and functionality by a third, I would have said, "No way!"...)

they restrict my access by crashing my browser every damn time I try to go there.

A couple of times last week they did ask for my username and password so I went off elsewhere. Other times they've been fine. I hope it stays open to all too.

three years pass...

Through traffic monitoring of our websites we have identified your IP address accessing allmusic.com at a rate and speed inconsistent with the noncommercial and personal use permitted by our site's Terms of Service. As a result, further access to allmusic.com has been denied. What's this all about?

They've been doing this for years, but it used to be completely random (refresh & it went away, usually). Temporary glitch, I suppose.

Yeah, it won't go away. So to find out the tracks on an ARE Weapons album, I've got to register on their site which includes a required field asking me how much I earn?

you can also find out here: http://www.amazon.com/R-E-Weapons/dp/B00008K4Z9/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1204202924&sr=1-2

Something going on at their end, definitely. We're not the only ones getting this (xxpost)

Don't want to blow minds or anything, but you could always lie about this.

Dear billionnaire AMG visitor,
