Snowed in music

Today in Virginia Beach, Virginia, home from school, I am snowed in. Ive read myself into a tizzy, and am deciding on what to slap on the ol' turntable. I'm think either something really abrassive(thinking Ghost), or brooding(Explosions in the Sky). One record you could listen to while snowed in. Lets hear it.

I used to live in Maine, for two winters. I listened to Plastikman "Consumed," Brian Eno "Discreet Music," and a lot of Basic Channel/Chain Reaction stuff. It was good for like 2/3 day snow ins during a blizzard.

The Carpenters From the Top box set. Can you believe Karen actually sings "logs on the fire/fill me with desire" in Merry Christmas, Darling? What a nut.

I once wrote a song about being snowed in. I don't want to go on about it, but this is probably the only imaginable thread which demands that I mention it in the interests of human knowledge; so I've mentioned it.

This thread should, of course, mutate w/ the coke one. As A. Ginsberg said abt B. Dylan during the Rolling Thunder Tour - "I didn't realize that his munificence was engorged with snow".

To the answer the question: something by Biosphere or Thomas Koner.

'cause of how my memory works, the Cranberries' first album especially "Waltzing Back" perpetually brings back a snapshot image of being snowed in, at home, during high school. Some good tunes on that disc, though I sold it a year later due to worries abt not being indie enough.
Put on Galaxie 500's cover of "Listen, the snow is falling." [I haven't heard the original unfortunately, that may work too.] Or Low, they're from northern Minnesota and as such are very suitable for playing when it snows.
