I keep listening to "Another Day in Paradise"

This is the most beautiful and touching song that was ever written. I went out and collected hobos after being moved by this song and they are all in my apartment, weeping; except they're weeping hope, not pain.

Ive noticed that reaction before under similar circumstances (actually involving hookers instead of hobos).
But seriously, dont let the song stop you from helping people out. The bonovoxification of charitable causes sometimes makes people too jaded.

I really, really hate this song.

i liked the brandy cover - the idea of r'n'b covers of phil collins sounds bad but it worked on almost every song.

Tim Cookrain, Tuesday, 1 February 2005 05:04 (twenty years ago)

I think there was an interview with the Stone Roses around the time of this song where they went "Think twice. Whats the good of thinking twice Phil Collins. Buy em a bloody house you bastard".

or somethign like that. yup.

It's a pretty enough song but kind of smug.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 14:53 (twenty years ago)

Phil Collins is beyond irony at this point. Teflon Man, basically.

ffirehorse, Wednesday, 2 February 2005 00:23 (twenty years ago)

...but seriously

"Something Happened On The Way To Heaven" sounds transcendently nasal in my head. Like every sound is run through his nostril.

I am now motivated to go get a phil collins greatest hits album.

When I was in primary school we spent a lesson listening to and discussing this song. I quite liked it at the time, but then I was only about 8.

While in Golden Gate Park in SF a few weeks ago, I walked by a homeless person sitting on the ground and playing this song on their stereo. I thought it was kind of neat/funny. And then I felt terrible.
