we all know what's up with other NWA alumni but what's happening with him?

I seem to remember a solo album at one point.

He kept putting out albums, one total dud after another. He was actually my favorite member of NWA when I was a kid, I loved him, but everything he has EVER released solo is absolutely dire.

worse than Yella's solo album? (I think there's only one...).

hahahah haven't had the pleasure of hearing that one. But i bought a few Ren solo albums - the Kizz My Black Azz EP being the best of the bunch (and pretty shitty at that) and Shock of the Hour (where he gets all X Clan / Chuck D serious) being the worst. He had a single called "Mayday on the Front Line" for some soundtrack a few years back, and it was just blah, but Rap City and Video Music Box played teh video a bit.

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

heard he's just put out a porn DVD..no, really...

nwaizm, Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Um, he hooked up with DJ Stimpy?

Ken L (Ken L), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

That was Yella, not Ren. He has his own porn production company or something.

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Why do you think so many artists from hip-hop and heavy metal eventually give porn a shot, by the way?

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, after being famous musically they didn't have to pay for sex for a while there, so when the glow fades...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Does he still control the automatic?

noodle vague (noodle vague), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope so...there's certainly no shortage of dumb static-starting motherfuckers these days.

Country porn didn't go over well; no one wanted to see Charlie Rich and DOnna Fargo in that light.

I'd buy indie-rock porn, though.

CB4! Packed with lameness but has the group's covers from the movie, so totally essential.
