wolf & cub are baggy, apparently.

Sekiden are electropopish, in a bis sort of way.

I have no idea where wolf & cub are from - was just following up on the wolfmother thing. heard good things about toxic lipstick - I'll ask my flatmates for more info. will I get a punch for saying minimum chips sound like stereolab?

nah. if anything they've gotten more derivative as they've gone along.

Sekiden are songs with rockish structure, but very much played inna synthpop stylee. They're the sort of band who had sleeve-note lists of the analog machine they used to record their early EPs, and whose debut LP ends with an electronic pulse lasting longer than all of the music previously appearing. esounds' description was pretty apt. (sound caveat: basically records are more synthpop, gigs are more rock.) They're great! though the first three songs on their first EP are still the best stuff they've done.

Wolf & Cub are from Adelaide, and aren't very baggy. They *maybe* have some of the could-fall-apart-at-any-minuteness of pre-Bummed Mondays, but apart from that I couldn't make the connection with any of the comparisons people draw. Based on one gig and one listen to their EP. Not very electronic at all though.

Jim also OTM on Minimum Chips (think they moved from Bris to Melb last century tho).
