Wow...I liked their first album, but both this song and video (holy crap, the video!) are absolutely terrible. Can this possibly be an official promo?

Seriously, folks, this thing has to be seen to be believed.

the video is a bit crap. the song makes sense within the context of the album I think where it works as relief to the rest of the record. it was always going to be the single as it's the most conventional track. I much prefer this album to the last.

Worst. Rock Ballad. Ever.

(Or the best, if you take a Spinal Tapesque point of view. They give the Scorpions a run for their money there)

Koens (Koens), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 20:26 (twenty years ago)

holy shit

the transformation to Janis Joplin is near complete.

And who know Satan was Silent Bob as Father Guido Sarducci as a black tar ice cream man. Like whoa.

in terms of bad ideas, this one gives Interpol's video for "Slow" a run for its money.

lemin (lemin), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

and by "Slow" i definitely meant "Evil".

lemin (lemin), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 21:21 (twenty years ago)

Wow... It's like the Mexican Rip Torn playing Bob Dylan in an Alejandro Jodorowsky-directed cover version of the "Losing My Religion" video!

And I think that "Evil" video is awesome, actually. Supremely creepy. The guy who directed that, Charlie White, is an excellent visual artist.

two weeks pass...
So, I suppose I'm the only person that doesn't dislike this video? The song is great, by the way.

Isn't it kind of odd that this is coming out in the UK before the US? I mean... they are an American band.

It's part of Bush's plan to reignite friendly relations with Europe.
