What do the Blood Arm sound like? I've read their name a few times and see they are touring the UK soon. Should I go??

They are on the "I Heart LA" comp CD, available from Rough Trade.
They sound OK, but then I like IMA ROBOT...

Check out ambitious outsiders.. google it. They fucking love the Blood Arm..

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Thursday, 3 February 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

There's something unmistakably Chas'n'Daveian about their piano work and the singer is out of tune on everything I've heard. So yes, definitely go. I probably will.

They're playing Optimo Sunday week, when I'm going for the first time in too long.

More interesting descriptions please.

Yes, they are great. I am currently borderline obsessed. You should definitely go. Go to their website (thebloodarm.com) and download some of their tracks. I like them more live than on record, but they've got some catchy songs and the singer is awesome (and very nice). I've seen them several times here in LA and it's always worth my time and sweat.

alba - i have only heard one song. they got booked on the cute girl factor. not sure i should have confessed to that.

are you coming 'cos the gruesome twosome are going to be in town?

stirmonster, Wednesday, 9 February 2005 20:37 (twenty years ago)

That was a fine spur, yes.

I love that you booked them for that reason.

I am now going to look for pictures of them (the Blood Arm, not the gruesome twosome)

She's like the indie Alicia Keys!

I just dled one of the mp3s on their site and took an instant like to the sound of the guitar, which is a good sign when it comes to guitar bands, I guess.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

It was a ridiculous reason to book them.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 21 February 2005 11:43 (twenty years ago)

it was ridiculous not to go, after all that.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 21 February 2005 12:01 (twenty years ago)

it was ridiculous that we booked them to begin with. biggest mistake so far of 2005. fuck bands, i'm going back to booking djs.

stirmonster, Monday, 21 February 2005 12:31 (twenty years ago)
