jake b. (cerybut), Friday, 4 February 2005 09:02 (twenty years ago)

Death In June - "Crush My Love", last track on the Nada! album - but the one immediately preceding it, "C'est Un Reve" works as well.

Bimble... (Bimble...), Friday, 4 February 2005 09:03 (twenty years ago)

Suicide - Frankie Teardrop

Omar (Omar), Friday, 4 February 2005 09:54 (twenty years ago)

Enigma - "Return To Innocence".

mike t-diva (mike t-diva), Friday, 4 February 2005 10:04 (twenty years ago)

Belle and Sebastian - "Seymour Stein"
I don't think you should listen to this song anyway, but I heard it the first time I did mushrooms and realized that life is meaningless.

Heidy- Ho, Friday, 4 February 2005 10:19 (twenty years ago)

Dave Matthews

eman (eman), Friday, 4 February 2005 12:20 (twenty years ago)

Old Fart!!! (oldfart_sd), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

Bloodrock, "D.O.A."
Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps. (Trust me on this.)
The Clash, "White Riot" (or ANY song w/sirens)

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

Alzheimer's, but is it "Radar Maker" on Mogwai's _Young Team_, with the revolving stereo effect? Makes me ill when using headphones.

addlepated, Friday, 4 February 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

Dave Matthews

Yeah, imagine if you discovered that you LIKED him!

Myonga Von Bongwater (Myonga Von Bontee), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:53 (twenty years ago)

You're all mental. The worst thing to listen to while high is, like, adult contemporary, or maybe Legend if it's put on the stereo by the wrong person. (How rockist is that??)

W i l l (common_person), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:23 (twenty years ago)

"Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps. (Trust me on this.)"

Aw hell no! This totally belongs in the other thread.

Austin (Austin), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

xstina aguilera: beautiful (that trance remix)
that voice sounds so dreadful under me sleng teng. believe me.

Jay-Kid (Jay-Kid), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:32 (twenty years ago)

my friend told me once that while driving around his well-baked friends, he put on Tool's "LAMC" (i think), one of their b-sides ... now, i wouldn't want anyone to listen to that while sober either, but it would be just plain painful while high.

lemin (lemin), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:06 (twenty years ago)

Special AKA "The Boiler"

neil tacus (tacit), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:13 (twenty years ago)

both best and worse: Jeff wayne's war of the worlds the musical

b b, Friday, 4 February 2005 16:50 (twenty years ago)

> The ending of "Long, Long, Long" by the Beatles.

This is very OTM.

Also Curtis Mayfield, "If There's a Hell Below (We're All Gonna Go)" and PG&E's "Are You Ready." I don't like presaging the apocalypse when I'm stoned.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

theres also the bit in jesus christ superstar where judas offs himself and the chorus "poor old judas" ... more than the mind or body needs

b b, Friday, 4 February 2005 18:56 (twenty years ago)

xpost: avoid all reggae then, my friend.

Snappy (sexyDancer), Friday, 4 February 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

The MERZBOX

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

I'd do a rail off the Merzbox if I got the chance.

Snappy (sexyDancer), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

I once started off a DJ set by playing Bjork's "Hunter", and these two stoned girls came up to me all wide-eyed and said, "Whoa, there's some bad vibes in that song, we feel sort of weird now. Those beats are like guns or something, dude." So, maybe NOT Homogenic.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

David Bowie - Quicksand actually all Bowie

elwisty (elwisty), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:24 (twenty years ago)

The only times I thought music got in the way of drugs:
1) once on LSD I turned off Spacemen 3 cuz I thought it was embarassingly redundant. put on White Album instead.
2) once on Salvia D I hid my head under a pillow because I thought Pink Flowd's Ummagumma was too didactic.

Snappy (sexyDancer), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

The Fireman 'Rushes' is an odd one. The first two tracks are ideal or exquisite even (if you're on blow/mushrooms/acid), but the third track - which brings in some indian infuences - is excrutiating.

Bob Six (bobbysix), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

Deep Purple- Child In Time :((

Lady Lazarus, Saturday, 5 February 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

Elwisty, Quicksand is an excellent stoner song. Dark Side of the Moon is OTM.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Saturday, 5 February 2005 03:22 (twenty years ago)

not for me it isn't tapped into all my neuroses and splattered them round the room

elwisty (elwisty), Saturday, 5 February 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

YOU ARE ALL WRONG

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Saturday, 5 February 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)
