Cis? Stevem? Matt? Anyone?

I am. If anyone else is, we should maybe go to a pub first.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:14 (twenty years ago)

i'm going, but won't be getting there till 11-ish anyway...

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

Come down to Brighton tonight for Steve Bug as a warm up!

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:37 (twenty years ago)

yeah I wasn't planning on getting to Fabric til late either Pete...

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

Am still doing this; might tempt my brother along as well.

there appears to be a galsshouse stores fap same evening: http://ilx.p3r.net/thread.php?msgid=545762

cis (cis), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

sorted!

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

I'd put my chances of attending at about 50/50 right now. I'm demolishing stuff on Saturday daytime again, so might well be a bit too done in come 11pm. On the other hand: Mayer *and* Superpitcher!

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:13 (twenty years ago)

Probably not the Matt you were referring to, but personally I'm saving the 'joys' of Fabric for the 26th Feb: Steve Bug, Smash TV, Tomas Andersson, Ellen Allien, Sylvie Marks, Idjut Boys & Rub N Tug all appearing on the same night.

Plus Tiefschwarz start monthly residency @ The Key next Saturday night. Shaping up to be a busy month.

MattR (MattR), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

omg tiefschwarz residency! it's all too much : )

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

That's next Saturday sorted then.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

i'm unlikely to Fabric tomorrow but i think i can do Tiefschwarz

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:48 (twenty years ago)

i've never been to the key. but 4 hrs of tiefschwarz sounds good... except that i'm already doing at least 2 things that eve, and i suspect that some of you are doing one of them (?)

toby (tsg20), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

oh and sadly i'm going to two birthday drinks/dancing things already tomorrow, so can't make fabric i'm afraid.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

oh wow, Tiefschwarz residency! oh no, more necessary expenditure.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 4 February 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

you lucky Londoners make me so mad!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 4 February 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

I'm not sure what accent that should be spoken in.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

a disgusting hangover/comedown one

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:33 (twenty years ago)

That is not an accent.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:38 (twenty years ago)

I just wet myself with excitement.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

Now that's an accent.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

About the Tiefschwarz residency, that is. I can't make tomorrow night. Nor next Saturday, sadly, as I suspect I will be too drunk to properly appreciate it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 February 2005 23:43 (twenty years ago)

oh-oh yes, i'll be there tonight. look out for the vaguely central european looking chap with messy black hair, ripped jeans and fingerless green gloves, dancing with jerky abandon. that's me.

dan jonze, Saturday, 5 February 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

...fingerless green string gloves? (sort of like netting or lace with huge holes or, oh, I don't know how to describe them)

You may have been dancing right next to us for a while in room one.

Superpitcher == bliiiiiiiss.

cis (cis), Sunday, 6 February 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

Bah.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 6 February 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

Superpitcher, omg, just - so - fucking - good.

I never noticed before that Fabric has the coolest vending machine in the world, with all the Fabric CDs in it like blocks of chocolate.

most wtf moment: DJ Koze randomly dropping an unremixed version of Johnny Cash's "Personal Jesus" into the middle of his set - god, I've forgotten what awesomeness immediately followed it but that was mental.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 6 February 2005 15:03 (twenty years ago)

oi! i have the copyright on doing that. my lawyers shall be speaking to his people.

stirmonster, Sunday, 6 February 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

Erol used to do that as well.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 6 February 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

bet i did it first. :-)

stirmonster, Sunday, 6 February 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

DJs be too 'pussy' to play the Marilyn Manson version

A metal fan from Crawley writes (blueski), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:05 (twenty years ago)

you lucky Londoners make me so mad!

i'm mad that all this stuff seems to happen when i can't really do it. Derrick May played Turnmills and Laurent Garnier was at The End last night as well. fume. it's just too much.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

What's the matter with you? Have you broken your arse?

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

Damn, I must have been off wandering when the Johnny Cash got played. I wasn't all that into Koze. He was good but not quite where my head was at at the time.

Aye, Superpitcher was incredible. Kept me going long after I should have gone home. My legs are paying the price today.

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

Biggest surprise was how much I enjoyed the bits of Billy Nasty and Luke Slater I heard. Despite what Ronan says, I don't think techno's dead just yet.

RickyT (RickyT), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

perhaps not dead so much as stuck in a maximum security prison, where nothing gets in or out. like the thing they kept magneto in in the x-men.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 6 February 2005 16:29 (twenty years ago)

lex and i late on during s'pitcher: 'feet falling off ow ow ow time to go o no cannot stop dancing'

Around four, Koze's set felt practically perfect.

Am still in state of non-plus re the earliness of Mayer's set.

cis (cis), Sunday, 6 February 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

...fingerless green string gloves? (sort of like netting or lace with huge holes or, oh, I don't know how to describe them)

close, woollen and increasingly threadbare -- and i don't think i strayed from room 1 for more than a few moments, so certainly must have been me. fucking singular, i was most impressed by koze; mayer's brief italo-disco interlude around midnight was also an unexpected delight, not to mention superpitcher playing rex the dog. bliss indeed.

dan jonze, Sunday, 6 February 2005 17:25 (twenty years ago)

mayer's brief italo-disco interlude around midnight was also an unexpected delight

yes! Cis and I got there just in time for this. we'd assumed that Mayer wouldn't be on until well after midnight so were slowly wending our way out of Farringdon when we got a text from Ricky saying 'Mayer's on NOW' - we looked at each other and just started RUNNING.

amazing the way Mayer had the art of peaking then dipping then peaking then dipping then FUCKING PEAKING totally down perfect.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 6 February 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

plezase tell me koze didtn play brutalga square.......if he did then i a mso gutted i didnt come down

ambrose (ambrose), Sunday, 6 February 2005 18:02 (twenty years ago)

gutted. i was working

nick.K (nick.K), Monday, 7 February 2005 05:15 (twenty years ago)

great night - a lot more fun than the fairly monochrome kompakt night back in december. koze was the highlight for me too, his set was just so bouncy!
