Arcade Fire: Live in Boston

Was anyone there last night? It officially became the best live show I've ever seen, but I was in the second row getting rowdy. They are such a great fucking band. (and I bought a copy of their EP. their influences are a lot more apparent on it.)

I was not, unfortunately. I heard that show sold out super-fast. :p

I saw them in New York on the 1st (and yes, tickets here sold out in about 20 minutes; it was insane), and they were totally incredible.

I was there, and it was indeed awesome. I watched from backstage with Win's parents (he's a friend of mine from high school) and took these two super-blurry cameraphone photos:

They're definitely the best live show I've ever seen too--seeing everybody going nuts from behind the stage was INCREDIBLE, though I wished I'd been in there too--when I saw them at TT's earlier in the winter it was great s well. I hope they became incredibly huge!

Megan, did you see David Byrne?

mrjosh (mrjosh), Friday, 4 February 2005 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

WISH I could have gone to the DC show, tickets sold out reallly quickly.

No, but caught a tiny glimpse of Bowie in the balcony.

I wish I'd seen this:

Me too, mrjosh. I was at the webster hall show, unfortunately.

I was at the show last night -- thought it was pretty up to par with their last two boston area performances (tt's & tufts). i was really hoping for a 'this is the place' cover, but regardless, it was a ball.

i'm also really happy i bought the ep that was out of print until recently, its in beautiful shape (just like funeral).

yo, mr. josh, did you see me from the balcony? i was in the second row center getting CRAZY. i have brown hair, I was wearing a red jacket with a green shirt underneath, and i was jumping up and down and screaming and conducting the violinists and what-not... wow. that sounds kind of obnoxious, but i think it was appropriate considering the energy.

i tried to get tickets for the NYC show, too. i was so desperate to see them I took the chinatown bus to boston yesterday just to see the show at the roxy. then i lost my cell phone in two feet of snow in the boston commons, but found it after 45 minutes of crawling around looking for it. good times.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Saturday, 5 February 2005 05:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah. So you know, it was not appropriate.

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Saturday, 5 February 2005 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

whatever. everyone around me was rocking out just as hard. besdies, i spent $10 on their EP, $20 on the ticket, $20 on liquor, and $30 on a round-trip bus pass to Boston. I should be entitled to conduct a goddamn orchestra. (and the violinist blew me a kiss, too. awwwwwwww yea.)

poortheatre (poortheatre), Saturday, 5 February 2005 06:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey poortheatre, were you the guy next to the guy in the big knit hat?

Yeah, I was kind of sorry that I was backstage (sort of) since I didn't get to jump around and go crazy quite like everyone else in the whole place. But I will definitely catch them again and do that.

mrjosh (mrjosh), Saturday, 5 February 2005 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

poortheatre, Owen blew you a kiss? Final Fantasy and poortheatre sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

Mickey (modestmickey), Saturday, 5 February 2005 15:46 (twenty-one years ago)

hahahaha, nah, not owen. maybe if he'd actually play covers of Final Fantasy tunes (I thought that was his gimmick). i meant the female violinist with the cute necktie.

i think the guy in the big knit hat was right in front of me. the whole first row has hardly moving. i was using him for leverage to get higher on my jumps, though haha.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Saturday, 5 February 2005 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i think i might hate you

sir (Sean M), Sunday, 6 February 2005 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

i asked him if it was cool :)
