I've been collecting music for well over 20 years and have amassed a rather large number of albums. Many of them I've replaced with CDs but have held onto them for sentimental reasons (silly, I know. But if there's anyone who can empathize it would be fellow posters on ILM). But, in need of money and space and time being what it is, I am considering a major purge of my vinyl collection. So, I ask that you indulge me and take a cursory look at the following list and tell me: am I a fool to sell these? or, if sold as a lot on EBAy, what do you think my opening bid should be set at. Thanks for your time.

How much are those Sonic Youth 12"s going for these days? I have most of them.
― Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 4 February 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)
I'v seen the Sonic Youth 12"s going for between $5 and $20. depends who's hunting on any particular day, I suppose. Sister went for $42 the other day.

If I were you I'd flick thru them and if ones pop up that give you a kind of sick, wrenching feeling at the thought of losing them, then hang on to them. Sell the rest and never give them another thought. Most will be available on cd/the net by now anyway :-)

the Tim Buckley Starsailor will go for about 25-40$, but don't plan on finding it on cd

There's some great stuff in there....but it's too long a list for me to go over in detail, sorry.
