Music about the tube - suggestions?

I'm after music about the London Underground.
Ideas so far include:

St Ettiene - Girl VIII
The Jam - Going Undergound
- Down at the Tube station at Midnight
The Streets - Has it come to this?

But I'm sure there must be others. Bands associated with the tube, songs recorded on the tube, field recordings of the tube and tube announcements etc etc

All suggestions warmly recieved.

The opening beeps of 'Sorted for E's and Whizz' always remind me of the doors closing noise on the tube, but I guess that's a bit tenuous.

I wonder if this will turn into another round of 'song titles sharing the names of Underground stations'.

Have a look at this thread cos there's oodles of tubes songs there...
Top 500 London tube stops that are referenced in songs

Field recordings of the tube sounds like an interesting idea though!

Can't believe no one has mentioned "Riding on the Metro" yet.

I think the Elvis C. song "Waiting for the End of the World" takes place in the tube but it just says "train" and "stations" so it could be an intercity train.

There are references to the Underground in the following songs:

* Stephen Duffy's "Mao Badge" (A track that featured on his single, "17")

"Pushing and pulling,
And trying to make my way
Through the crowd on the underground.
I'm just a man
And I hope that I can be true
Like I've never been true before."

** Nick Drake's "Parastite"

"And I’m sailing downstairs to the northern line
Watching the shine of the shoes
And hearing the trials of the people there
Who’s to care if they lose."

*** Momus's "Homosexual"

"One stop past Embankment and the coughs begin:
Hell hath no fury like an insecure Englishman."

**** The Wombles' "Wombling Free"

"Underground, overground, wombling free, The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we"

You might try to locate a copy of "Underground" by Funky DL, in which Mr. DL rather goofily incorporates station names into his narrative ("looked in the cupboard and it was Stockwell" etc).

Alex (in NYC) I think that "Subway Song" by the Cure is about what we'd call a subway over here, i.e. a path under a road rather than the tube. I have no evidence for this except to say that it would have been unusual and self-conscious use of an Americanism by Mr. Smith if he'd meant the tube. Not that this is important, of course. It had just never occurred to me before that that song might be about an underground railway.

"Subways" by the Urban Verbs. It's great!

Every morning I go under the city
Handful of change takes me away from it all
I leave my problems up on the street
And ride the subway where it's always warm
Subways, we're all going the same direction
Subways. we're all going the same speed
Subways, it all gets obscured
Then it begins to make sense
See that man read his morning paper
See that woman fiddle in her purse
Even though I've never ever met them
I can assure you they're my best friends on this
Subway,'cause we're all sharing the motion
Subway, you know it's vaguely enticing
Subway, I'm under confusion
Now I can relax
Down here I don't have to say anything
I just sit & look out my window
Miles flashing gray & white past my face
It's good to get away from these pressures
Down here I have never felt guilty
Theres no sun screaming at my eyes
On this train I'm never ever lonely
People smile from pictures on the wall
[Repeat 2nd verse]
[Repeat 1st verse]
Subways the driver's voice says'uhn-uhn-uhn''
Subways. now I'm back at my stop
Subways. I can't face what's out there
So I'm not getting off
