Due out Feb 22. All JP, no Emergency.
I mentioned on the Kim Mitchell thread that he's the heir apparant to Feel-Good Meaty-Licks CanRock.
Got an advance of this on Friday, and have been listening to it steadily. Not quite as wonderful as Truthfully, Truthfully, feels a little choppy, but has some great songs.

So is it singer-songwriter-y without the Emergency? I like 'In Need of Medical Attention' better than the last two.

It has s/sw moments, but it mostly feels like an 8-track home job, with JP playing all the instruments. Which is weird, because, the whole reason for this record is that some fan in AZ emailed him and invited him to record at his studio for free. So maybe JP was being Canadian/polite, and trying not to abuse the hospitality. Apparantly, JP wrote most of the songs on his way from Hali to AZ. There's a really weird line about hearing that Ronald Reagan had died and pulling over to the side of the road to cry.
There's some goofy stuff, like a song about television, and one about being an office-worker, and lots of ruminating on the State of Halifax and being a rocker.

I enjoy the Emergency stuff better than Medical Attention but will gladly chase down anything the man releases. If any of it matches "Light Of The Moon" standards I'll call it classic.
