Those futuremetal clicks at the start of Cadence Weapon - Oliver Square

"C'est comme-es çyaaaaa", Francoise Hardy - Voila

'uh oh uh oh uh oh hey hey' (MIA's '10 Dollar' but 'Arular' has a whole bunch of examples you'll be pleased to know Greg)

I think MIA is gonna own this thread. She just makes noises so good, y'know?

(I am slowly getting psyched about Arular and all I need now is to work out how to like Galang without a ballpark or summer).

haha Arular was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread title! everything mentioned so far otm: I keep getting these beats embedded in my head. "Dit-dit-dit on yr mobile phone" from 'URAQT' too. And "I got the beats to make you baaang" from 'Pull Up The People', and the "junk junk, junk junk junk" in the background all the way through 'Amazon'.

Also - the perfectly poised "C-I-A-R-A, let's go!" which kicks off 'Hotline' (Ciara is a mistress of this too - her calmness in extending the syllable "ohhh" on 'Oh' as well)

the "uh, uh, uh, uh" at the start of Tori Amos's 'Hoochie Woman'

the drawn-out "o-kaaay" at the end of the chorus of Lady Sov's 'Ch-Ching'

"no she di-n't! yes she di-!" from Mya's 'Whatever Bitch'

all the "a-ha"s on the Justus Köhncke remix of 'Freï/Hot Love'

the "la-la-la-la" buried robot vox on the Fischerspooner remix of 'Come Into My World' (which >>> the la-la-las on CGYOOMH)

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

the "HEY!s" in arcade fire's "no cars go"

"oh, no's" at the end of big star's "what's going ahn"

"ah-no WAY" - black mountain's "modern music"

"hey hey hey heys" at the beginning of the go! team's "ladyflash"

the sexy "yeahs" in spoon's "you gotta feel it" (yes you gotta feel it, YEAH)

always, always the "doo-doo-doo-DO-DO-doo-doo-doo" in pinback's "loro"

and of course, "tick-tock-tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock LA LA LA LA LA LA LA" in gwen stefani's majestic "what you waitin' for"

"I said go, she said yes, dim the lights, youcanguesstherest!" -Roxy Music

Just two days ago I would have said, "I wanna eat your nation-state!" from Scritti Politti's "Jacques Derrida".

I know that's not as small as what's been posted, but that's as small as I can get for now.

"UH-OH! in the baaaackseeeeat" - gwen stefani, "bubble pop electric" (the UH-OH!, obv.)

joseph (joseph), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 02:53 (twenty years ago)

the emphatically repeated (like he's bragging!) "MY HOUSE" at the end of every other line in lcd soundsystem's "daft punk is playing at my house"

joseph (joseph), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 02:54 (twenty years ago)

the slightly drawn out and garbled "creepy-CRAAAAWLY" on vitalic's "candy"

"Come-OWN litt-le baybuh let me give ya just a piece-a good-a news-a good-a good-a news-a good news!" -- Jerry Lee Lewis, "High School Confidential" from the Star Club album.

"Bonito-Portet-bonito-Peret-bonita-la-rumba-bonito-José" -- Jarabe de Palo, "Bonito", from a viddy I saw on Mun2.
