PEZ & GYP 2004 THREAD

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

*breakdances*

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

I tied with K3lly Clarks0n.

Snappy (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

I like to imagine all the critics lined up on two sides and dancing down the middle while shouting out their quote a la the B-52's "Love Shack" with people yelling "GO TANNENBAUM! GO TANNENBAUM!" or "GO HARRIS! GO HARRIS!" and the like. It'd look a lot like the video for "Love Shack."

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

or the worst poetry slam ever, and I've been to some ass-ass poetry slams

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:58 (twenty years ago)

What is poetry of the ass?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 20:59 (twenty years ago)

Well, it doesn't smell like the rose, that's for sure.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

An ass by any other name...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

= ooh ooh ooh

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

david raposa and i are secret pazz and jop best friends.

maura (maura), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

We are?!?! YAYAYAYAY! Why didn't anyone tell me?

(Don't say because it was a secret!)

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:05 (twenty years ago)

maybe because you don't check your e-mail, dood!

maura (maura), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Oh! I'm @ work, & cannot receive my happy-fun-time e-mail because of corporate joy-hating. I will consult my inbox later this evening & have my people get back to you.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

"consult my inbox" is the worst euphemism ever.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

That's because IT'S NOT A EUPHEMISM.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 03:58 (twenty years ago)

would you like me to send you an attachment? ;)

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:55 (twenty years ago)

Maybe this can be the thread where the three ILMers who dont vote can talk about things. So guys...whats up?

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:57 (twenty years ago)

I'll look in my bulk folder ;)

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

hey I didn't vote, nice. let's chat.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

I just got taco bell grease on my computer mouse. I hate fast food.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

what are you listening to gear!?

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 04:59 (twenty years ago)

I had Taco Bell a few weeks ago. Nachos bellegrande. the aftereffects were unpleasant.

I'm listening to KAYNE WEST. wait scratch that, I'm listening to Kaito (the band not the Kompakt fellow)

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:00 (twenty years ago)

I don't think if I'd voted in P&J it would have made a difference, what with my choices quite likely being buried in the nether-regions of "Music That Matters Not". Except the Streets and Junior Boys, I reckon I would have voted for them.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:02 (twenty years ago)

my P&J poll would have been this, maybe:

1) Junior Boys
2) Holly Golightly
3) Streets
4) RTX
5) Craig Richards fabric mix
6) Ellen Allien remix collection
7) Rob Sonic
8) Andre Ethier
9) Mr. Airplane Man
10) kylie minogue

much as I love U2, I couldn't put that album in any top ten list, not even a U2-only top ten list.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:18 (twenty years ago)

I don't feel like searching for the thread where we listed our P&J ballots, but it wouldn't have made much difference if I'd voted. Arcade Fire would have had a few more points, and I believe I gave 18 points to Xiu Xiu as my #1 which would have shot them from #94 to ... #79! Storm the palace, yeah!!

If you're reading this, Chuck, don't let me near the poll next year, I'm too dangerous!!

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:19 (twenty years ago)

I wouldnt have made a difference either. I like Junior Boys more now than I did.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:30 (twenty years ago)

Of course, the likelihood of one person's vote making a noticeable difference in a poll of 800 people is very small, but almost nothing on my top 10 (or even my top 20) finished in the P&J Top 160 (I didn't bother scrolling any further). But I suppose a bunch of people can make that claim also.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:44 (twenty years ago)

the final results of P&J are always very tasteful

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 05:46 (twenty years ago)

I bet you we could make every thread on New Answers P&J related.
