When my partner's dad, who was a proud Scotsman, died last year, I had a tree dedicated to him in Rebels Wood, the Joe Strummer Memorial Forest on The Isle Of Skye, Scotland.

Considering Joe's frequently outspoken views on conservation and the environment in general and CO² emissions in particular, I'm not convinced he'd have been too chuffed about having a fuckin' diesel locomotive named in his "honour".

ten months pass...

Diesel trains aren't so bad for the environment, compared with road freight anyway. These days they are clean-burning and filtered to fuck so the emissions are pretty tiny.
