Since day one, I've always wanted to imitate it, right down to the gurning. But to no avail.

Can stevem dance like this? or Gareth? or Simon Reynolds?

1. Possibly

2. Probably

3. Who'd you think taught Keith Flint his moves?

ha. it's funny watching Liam try to dance in that video. obviously no-one can match Leeroy. the best bit is the New York kid who upon seeing Leeroy starts dancing to, only not very well.

ITV Chart Show window-pop up fact: whilst in New York for the video the band apparently spent up to £250 each on trainers!

I found said video since I don't know what the heck y'all are talking about. 18 Mb though I will not be confirming the contents given my current slow connection.

Well, damn, I downloaded the AVI, and my lack of the appropriate codec, apparently, is making the video all screwy.. it's starts off as green and chunky, with squares of technicolor yawn then infiltrating the green membrane. Anyone know the codec used for this AVI?

I'm better than Keith but not as limbic as Leroy.

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 10 February 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

Vahid... thank you.. I had an outdated version of the Divx codex...

LOVE The video.. and yeah, i wanna see Stevem bust a move, especially next to old ladies trying to turn off fire hydrants.

Steve and I will dance-off at the next Club FT - winner takes on The Lex.

I may throw the match.

The only people I've ever seen properly manage Leeroy's moves were Essex boys. Maybe it's an Essex thing? The N-Joi dancer that wasn't the girl out of Republica also to thread.

Graeme (Graeme), Friday, 11 February 2005 01:17 (twenty years ago)

Video won't play! Where do I find this "codec" thingy at www.divx.com?

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Friday, 11 February 2005 01:37 (twenty years ago)

The current version of VLC has the right codec already in place.

Graeme (Graeme), Friday, 11 February 2005 01:57 (twenty years ago)

just scroll down and download the "free download" DivX option. Make sure you uninstall any previous version of DivX codec just in case, etc. then install and you should be set.

heh, that video is like a time capsule.

fwiw, that site can address all your prodigy video needs. should you have any.

so, at that point Flint was just a dancer in the band, right? like Bez? do any bands nowadays have dancers as band members? seems like a funny role to play. a common thread between the Mondays and rave era Prodigy must be tonnes and tonnes of E so I wonder if that is a necessary precondition to get the idea to have a band member that just dances.

gspm (gspm), Friday, 11 February 2005 03:16 (twenty years ago)

Got it working!! Thanks a lot!!
