Mylene Farmer - Fuck Them All

Has anyone got this? I have to have it. Limewire is littered with fakes.

Popjustice sez:

Mylène Farmer, the greatest pop redhead this side of Nicola 'Traitor To The Cause' Roberts, is back! She's often referred to as the French Madonna, but while Madge has gone a bit "Blimey guvnor, I'll re-shoot my video if it's going to upset anybody", Alizee's fairy godmother is as hilariously confrontational as ever.

To this end, Farmer's new single - which debuted a couple of days ago on French radio - is entitled 'Fuck Them All' and sounds like Dusty Springfield's 'Nothing Has Been Proved' with tATu's disgruntled aunts on chorus duties. A chorus which, splendidly, goes like this:

"Fuck them all!
Something in French
Fuck them all!
Something in French
Fuck them all!
Something in French
Something in French
Something in French"

There's a great spoken word middle eight, too, with Mylène growling, "Hey bitch, you're not on the list" and some other stuff we can't understand EVEN THOUGH IT'S IN ENGLISH.

Is the actual chorus "Fuck them all! Something in French" or "Fuck them all! [Something in French]"? Either is good, but the former would be best.

Graeme (Graeme), Friday, 11 February 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

Ooooh, can't wait to hear this. Ally-zay to thread!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 11 February 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

I haven't heard this song but I don't have a lot of time for her. She's a poor man's Madonna in the same way that Jonny Hallyday was a poor man's Elvis.

Joubert, Friday, 11 February 2005 17:50 (twenty years ago)

I don't agree that Mylène is a poor man's Madonna. While there are some similarities in the style of music and the desire to provoke, and the amazingly innovative videos, Mylène has a much darker and more violent side that Madonna has never really explored. Half her songs are like suicide notes set to bouncy music.
The new one sounds great and I can't wait to hear it!

FUCK THEM ALL

Faire l’amour à Marie/ Blood and Tear
Mais Marie est martyre / Blood and Tear
Vivre sur de violents soupirs

(Refrain)
Fuck them all
Faites l’amour nous la guerre
Nos vies à l’envers
Fuck them all
Faites l’amour nous la guerre
C’est nous notre enfer

Fuck them all
Faites l’amour nous la guerre
Nos vices à l’envers
Proud and soul
Faites le mou dans le texte
Le sang c’est le sexe

De nature innocente
On manie l’élégance
Et d’une main experte
D’un glaive nous transperce

Les discours trop prolixes
Que de la rhétorique
Lachetés familières
Qui nous rendent guerrières

Faire de leur vie un Empire / Blood and Tear
Faire l’amour à Marie / Blood and Tear
Mais Marie est martyre / Blood and Tear
Vivre sur de violents soupirs

Refrain

Hey bitch, you’re not on the list
You witch, you suck, you bitch
They said... 2x

Hey bitch, you’re not on the list
What’s your name, again ?

Hey bitch you’re not on the list
You witch, you suck, you bitch

Hey bitch you’re not on the list
Hey bitch you’re not on the list
You witch You’re not on the list
You witch, you suck, you bitch
What’s your name again ?

Hey bitch, you’re not on the list
Hey bitch you’re not on the list
You witch You’re not on the list
You witch, you suck, you bitch

Refrain 3x

No Ally here yet? The world is a strange place!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 12 February 2005 00:54 (twenty years ago)

She and Boutonnat are unstoppable - at least six classic Alizee singles in the last few years... Is there anywhere we can hear this???

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 12 February 2005 00:55 (twenty years ago)

After spending the day trawling Limewire for it, I finally managed to get a crappy radio rip of it. The poor sound quality doesn't make for repeat listens, but it does sound intriguing.

davidsim (davidsim), Saturday, 12 February 2005 01:00 (twenty years ago)

I should really do more research and get some stuff by Mylene because I've got Alizee's "Gourmandises" and I don't half love it.

Nick H (Nick H), Saturday, 12 February 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

ILM made me d/l "Libertine", "Sans contrefaçon" and "Sans logique", and I can confidently say that you definitely should check her out, Nick. Alizee? I shall investigate.

It's a wench trying to get hold of the albums, though. At least in Norway. Should prob try French webstores, or something.

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 12 February 2005 21:04 (twenty years ago)

God, I can't wait to hear this.

Guitarthur and the Ecstasy Defecators (Arthur), Saturday, 12 February 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

I found it on slsk @ 128 kbit, guitarthur. If searches don't turn up anything, my username is what comes before düül reversed, and then two years ago (4 letters, 4 digits) ;)

OleM (OleM), Saturday, 12 February 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

nothing on win mx - plenty of songs listed but they don't download

La Camilla Henemark, Sunday, 13 February 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

I think music sung in French has difficulty selling, in Britain at least, because I reckon Alizee could've been pretty successful if people had heard her.

Nick H (Nick H), Sunday, 13 February 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

I've managed to find it - see my Direct Connect folder, or ask me nicely to gmail it to you.

two months pass...
The album, "Avant Que L'Ombre..." is out now. It's about half-superb, but the peaks are much better than I expected. There are a handful of ballads which more or less blend together (these might wind up distinguishing themselves with repeated listening), and it's slightly bloated at 70 minutes; but there are more than a few things that are as good as anything she's ever done.

"Peut-etre toi" is in the same vein as "L'ame-stram-gram". The shouty voices from "Fuck Them All" return to yell "Shut! The! Fuck! Up!" repeatedly over 140 BPM. It's exhilarating.

"Aime" is fantastic. By the end it turns into one of Boutonnat's densest productions, and it sounds absolutely huge. I wish it was ten minutes long.

"Q.I.", "Fuck Them All", and the title track are all great too.

Anyone else heard it?

Captain Sleep (Captain Sleep), Monday, 2 May 2005 08:08 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I'm listening to it now. I love it. I'd say it's about three-quarters superb. I love the "SHUT THE FUCK UP" bits. "QI" is amazing, as is "Porno Graphique".

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 2 May 2005 08:21 (twenty years ago)

Should prob try French webstores, or something.

I probably would but I can't speak French so I'd not really know what I was doing. Maybe I'll search around for someone to translate for me.

Nick H (Nick H), Tuesday, 3 May 2005 23:02 (twenty years ago)

Pointcube, Sunday, 4 December 2005 11:40 (nineteen years ago)

Slightly off-topic, but what are those six classic Alizee singles. The only one I ever heard was "Moi Lolita," which was great. But then nothing.

Mitya (mitya), Sunday, 4 December 2005 14:21 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think the other two singles off Gourmandises were that good, but the three singles of Mes Courants Electriques are definite seeks, though they don't sound that much like "Moi Lolita", more guitary, but still very pop: "J'en Ai Marre" is, I think, by some distance her best single, but "J'ai Pas Vingt Ans" and "A Contre-Courant" are also wonderful.

"Amelie" and "C'est Trop Tard" are the best of the non-singles, but MCE is a very, very good album.

edward o (edwardo), Sunday, 4 December 2005 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

My favorite is "Hey Amigo".
