who can sing like beyonce or kelis?

this is perhaps not the best use of the forum, but feeling like sharing (re: the *shameless plug*... thread), i decided to post a track of mine that i have been looking for someone to sing on top of... my girlfriend can sing but she doesn't like the track... i made it at the height of wanting to get on the radio... if anybody is interested, it would be nice if you were not ironic about it, though any interaction with it at all would be highly amusing and greatly appreciated. i don't even care if you actually stick to the style in the subject, but it would probably be a natural fit. also, i don't care (actually i would find it awesome) if you want to completely cut the track up. or maybe someone would make a mashup with a beyonce vocal or something... i don't know... please do something with it, someone.

How about you can have whoever can sing like Beyonce and I get whoever sings like Kelis? I am continually amazed by how nobody I know thinks they can sing, even for the purpose of crappy bedroom electropop.

Maybe I need to pitch it in a more flattering way.

Also, again: this is HOTTT. Though I think it needs more of a Brandy voice.

either arrangement would work for me... although i will most definitely assure you that i do not underestimate my ability to sing. i clear rooms full of deaf people. and thanks... maybe you're right about brandy... got her number?

No no, I'm in the same position w/r/t my own voice. The line about people underestimating their singing ability was meant to indicate that I, you know, ask people: "You don't sing, do you?" And they never do, which I find weird. I.e., I keep thinking someone I know will one day say yeah, I sing, and then I'll be all like "hey, wanna sing stuff for me? My voice sucks."

can kelis sing? imo no better than an urban annie.

You've heard her other songs beside "Milkshake", right?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Saturday, 12 February 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

Judging from watching CD-UK and any old Pop Idol audition, the majority of wannabe karaoke stars in the UK *think* they do.

Buy them – or make them buy – "Singstar" for Playstation or similar. After watching the scores improve for a few days, they'll be eager to show their ability for a wider audience.

Forget Beyonce, Kelis, and Brandy. Someone needs to mix this with the radio freestyle from that Jay-Z thread.

phatbitch, Sunday, 13 February 2005 02:26 (twenty years ago)

i can sing, but i'm probably too white for what you want (i haven't listened to the track).

I think Kelis is one of the best new singers I've heard in the last twenty years - I'm amazed there are people who think she can't sing.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 13 February 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

there is no too white or too anything... i would just marvel that someone would sing on this at all -- and/or take the jay-z freestyle. someone do something with this please please please.

thanks, colin. i do wish that i could sing though... it would make the whole means to an end bit a lot easier. more specifically, i wish i could sing like a black woman. though i don't know if the extent to which this would alternately impress and horrify my friends would be worth the tradeoff.
