"Tin Soldier" for me.

But "All Or Nothing" and "Lazy Sunday" beat both of them.

I think it's "Lazy Sunday." But I love the Small Faces--"Hey Girl" and "Watcha Gonna Do About It" are ace...

I agree with Stewart. But Itchycoo Park is good too,

Definitely Itchycoo Park. What did you do there? WE GOT HIGH!

Also:
"I feel inclined
to blow my mind
get hung up feed the ducks with a bun"

I think I like "The Baker" better than "Tin Soldier."

"Tin Soldier" wins the taking sides.

Have you heard that live version that floats around on various comps? They are playing so LOUD, it's insane.

my Small Faces fave would have to be "Have You Ever Seen Me". Or maybe "Autumn Stone" or "Song of a Baker" or... shit, forget it, I have to have it ALL.

Itchycoo has been popping up lately on my playlist. It's simultaneously the best and worst pop song I've ever heard, up there with Cherry Bomb and American music in that category. Something about it is so campy and yet so amazing.

"You can miss out school (won't that be cool)
Why go to learn the words of fools?
What will we do there?
We'll get high"

yeah Ian McLagan was on Fresh Air earlier this year, coinciding with the release of that Faces box set, and he talked about how much fucking HATES that song, he didn't want them to do it, hated the flanging, etc.

he also has a very funny anecdote about being asked to join the Grateful Dead!! i never heard of that before. He hates them too.

Yeah, Tin Soldier.

Oh, and check out the "Me, You and Us Too" version of "Wham Bam"

Another vote for Tin Soldier. That live version cooks, too. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of Mac in the Dead. Was he supposed to replace Pigpen?

Itchycoo Park by a mile. Come on, those flanged-out drums! How can you not love it?

Tin Soldier. The way it builds to an insane climax from the electric piano intro is fantastic. Great backing vocals by PP Arnold.

The live version sounds like they have a jet engine onstage with them.

My POV apart from Tin Soldier would be :

1. If I Were A Carpenter (BBC version)
2. Song Of A Baker
3. I Feel Much Better
4. All Or Nothing
5. Become Like You

Tin Soldier, by a long shot ... although Afterglow is even better, imo.
